  2. well that sounds nice. i couldn't see shit. i feel like my experience would have been so much better if we could have gone up front and picked up on some of the energy coming from the stage. i didn't think the show was worth the $. (for me)

  7. ah...but in the case of say watson & crick, that is a co-nomination, like a 'team'. the citizen made it sound like that was the deal with al & sheila. it was weird.
  8. yes that's it, thanks blane. i was trying to find the citizen article i'd read earlier, and came across an editorial by her. http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/opinion/story.html?id=b92d96f2-18d3-4456-a74f-79e160cf3578&p=2 i guess i don't understand how the prizes work. how could gore be both co-nominated with her, and be co-nominated with the IPCC?
  9. just got this email...sounds kinda intense! Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE On Sunday, Oct. 14, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band will be visiting Scotiabank Place in Ottawa. For this event there will be a separate general admission (GA) line that will queue along the Gate 3 south walkway near the YMCA entrance to Scotiabank Place. The line will be indicated by signs stating “GA ticket holders line.†The GA line will enter Scotiabank Place through the Gate 3 entrance along with the accessibility-needs patrons. The details of the general admission policy for this concert are as follows: - GA ticket holders may begin arriving to receive numbered wristbands at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14. (Please do not attempt to line up earlier) - On Oct. 14, sequentially numbered wristbands will be distributed beginning at 2 p.m. at the Gate 3 entrance. Wristbands will be distributed until 5 p.m. One wristband per patron and the patron must also be in possession of a valid GA ticket. Wristbands will be issued and affixed to the patron’s wrist only after the patron's ticket has been verified. The wristband must remain on the GA ticket holder’s wrist at all times. Any GA ticket holder found with a tampered wristband will have that wristband confiscated, and the GA ticket holder will lose his/her sequential place in the line. - Anyone who receives a numbered wristband between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. has a chance to be first in line to enter the pit area, but a wristband does not guarantee a place in the pit area. No wristbands will be distributed after 5 p.m. - A starting number will be drawn randomly at 5:15 p.m. by a fan; this will be announced and displayed on a placard at the Gate 3 entrance. The fan holding the wristband that matches the starting number drawn will be first in line (i.e. Nos. 1 to 100 were issued and No. 10 was drawn, the line would start with 10, then 11, 12, 13 through 100 then from No. 1 to 9). When the starting number is announced, the line will shift accordingly. The purpose of the random number distribution is to insure that all fans have the same chance of being first in line, eliminating the need to camp out. This policy also helps to insure customer safety and provides for an effective means of crowd control. - At 5:30 p.m., all fans with GA tickets and a wristband should begin lining up in numerical order, beginning with the announced drawn number. The line will then be escorted into the GA pit area in front of the stage approximately 10 minutes before the rest of the patrons are allowed to enter the venue. - A wristband and a GA ticket are required to enter the GA pit area in front of the stage. No wristbands will be issued at the GA pit entrance on the floor within the venue. Please be advised that no patron, fan or club-run list will be honoured by tour personnel, security or building personnel. The above procedures will be implemented and supervised by touring personnel. Access to the GA pit area will be subject to a maximum capacity as determined by the tour security, a Scotiabank Place representative and fire code regulations. Please take note that Scotiabank Place policy strictly precludes the following from entering the facility: - Cameras of any kind - Backpacks/large bags/brief cases - Outside food and beverage - Bottles or cans - Audio or video recording devices - Laser pointers - Intoxicated patrons These guidelines are subject to change by the facility. 11. i didnt see any mention of that iqualuit(?) lady (don't remember her name sorry) in the article. the newspaper here had an article about her last week and said that her and al gore were co-nominated. it really made it sound like she was just as important as him in the nomination. or...not?
  12. this sounds like fun. hope i can make it, i've still never seen the fat cats
  13. i was hoping this thread was about bad religion

  16. don't you ever eat pasta, bouche?
  17. better in some ways and worse in others than other cheese. i'm procrastinating so i just went to compare the labels on my cheddar and cream cheeses. med. cheddar, per 30 g: 120 calories 31% mf 10g fat 25mg cholesterol 240mg sodium protein 7g calcium 20% rda whipped cream cheese (cracked pepper flavour), per 30 g: 80 calories 26% mf 8g fat 30mg cholesterol 120 mg sodium 2g protein calcium 4% rda so cream cheese has less calories, sodium and fat, but also less protein and calcium. less of everything essentially my regular cream cheese has the same info as the whipped, except it's 90 calories instead of 80.
