i would check with saslove's or the piggy market in westboro!

    Mole

i know a certain mole conoisseur who would certainly be interested in trying your recipe!! [and me too!]
  7. FTR - c-towns you started that for sure!! is the CFAS show happening?? usually donny gets the word out good and early and i haven't heard anything yet. and as for traditions, we also like chevy chase's xmas vacation. we started a new tradition the year my gramsy passed away. we were all feeling very bah-humbuggy. we ended up cranking a 17 minute version of innagaddadavida and drinking a lot of bailey's. so this is what we do every christmas eve.. and then head over to gebal's for some chatham family reunion!
  8. you read my mind. how many times have i heard 'i seen it'.. *shudder*. a chatham fave of mine is 'terlet' instead of toilet. sweet.
  9. went to this place on friday night with my folks and a friend. it was AWESOME. i had smoked pork loin wrapped in prosciutto with some goat cheese and herb croquettes- delicious. my mom had an assortment of cheeses and a beet salad. lovely. my dad had beef - from an organic farmer in chatham, no less, hats off to you bob kerr. my friend had lamb. it was all excellent. they made a mistake and ended up bringing my friend's food later than the others, so they gave us a free round of drinks! classy!! and i loved the non-snooty atmosphere. really looking forward to going back there!!! beet salad and my pork: cheeses:
  10. yes TV and yes cable. strangely i never watch TV anymore! i used to be addicted. i am letting my other addictions have the stage for awhile.
  11. yey yey yey! birthday weekend goodness. looking forward to it.
  12. yeah it was FUN! PS loving this thread. listening to bill withers as i type!
  13. i'm sure this has been discussed before, but i've got a few friends in the doldrums and i want to make them a nice uplifting mix, also a proactive measure for myself for fending off those winter blues! i've been really enjoying a bunch of tracks from van morrison's 'his band and the street choir'. and currently listening to michael franti's 'say hey' - i've never listened to him but this song is so infectious! also vampire weekend has been doing it for me in the mornings. what are those songs that put a big smile on your face??
  14. done! i'm sure some of my students use this place so i am extra happy to help!!!
  15. well iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii am looking forward to it! bring on the food & wine.
  16. anyone going to check this out? i'm thinking of going on saturday afternoon. linky doo
  17. i LOVE chez lucien. but yeah, it's generally packed. the last couple times i went we didn't stay b/c there was nowhere to sit. the cornerstone in the market isn't bad. comfortable seating.
  18. sweet! i was actually thinking of this thread the other day with fondness.
  19. i enjoyed the helper-drummer in acres. i had to leave early [12:30] and was sorry to not have seen a SINGLE golden dogs song b/c they weren't on yet. but, i heard it was quite good.
  20. slippery slope is right. i like some of chavez' lefty leanings and focus on the poor, but he is definitely creepy-crawling towards a dictatorship, bit by bit. interesting to watch, but scary.

    zucchini?

awesome! last night we made a simple cream soup, suggested by luke. basic ingredients were leeks, potatoes, and zucchini. turned out great. PS what is the difference between a chowder & a cream soup?
  22. i have always been tempted by cozy's sunday afternoon euchre tourneys. one of these days...
