  1. Yep. Love how they stretch their interpretations out...
  2. I saw an epic faceplant involving a member of this board that shall remain anonymous this past summer....unfortunately no video footage. By far the most instantaneous goose egg I have ever seen.
  3. Welcome to the board Mr. Whiteduck

    RIP Ween

Sweet. Although I initially thought you meant the cover band.
  5. Those two certainly have some chemistry. Never heard this trio though!
  6. Really sad to see that. Twenty years is a tremendous accomplishment especially given the roots. Vibes 2013 with ctowns, mark tonin and livingstoned from this board will forever be one of my fondest zaniest memories for so many reasons. I'm always skeptical of promises of return after a hiatus but I do hope there's real possibility in that. I suspect last year with fare thee well they likely took a major hit
  7. Nice read Booche! In their expansive catalogue there are little to no songs that I do not like. Lazy Lightning>Supplication are definite exceptions.

A fellow Faculty member recently shared this quote as part of their own approach to processing through all this stuff and related atrocities. I thought I'd share...it resonated with me, and I think the last line is pretty relevant to what many of us admire in some of the greatest tortured souls that share & soothe and transcend through their music.... "I keep in close touch with what happens in the world. And there are times when I feel deeply grieved by the suffering I read about, and wonder why life has to be this way. But I never despair. At those times I go deep, deep into meditation until I reach the very source of love and wisdom that exists in each of us....So what I would tell all of you is this: meditate every day, throw yourself into some form of selfless work, and use your sense of suffering to relieve the suffering of others. It is a wonderful gift to be able to give." -Eknath Eswran FWIW
  9. I've been really digging Nathaniel lately. My son and nephews can't get enough of the S.O.B (some wholesome parenting on my part). Which reminds me, meant to ask on here whether any of you guys have checked out this doc in which he is also featured. http://austintobostonfilm.com/ I thought it was a nice watch. It was also the first time I was introduced to The Staves...holy moly soothing soaring rockaby harmonies. Three sisters...check them out.
  10. I haven't had a moment to weigh in since Wed night. Plus kinda felt like I had to reflect a bit on this one. Overall a good show. I think a few factors aligned that took the wind out of my sails a bit...some mid week exhaustion and feeling under the weather, rush to get there, not very good seats and an incredibly OCD level of nothing short of harassing security presence in our section made it hard for me to fully find my groove or that place I seek. I was surprised to hear NW's account of security. Our experience was very different. We were even getting harassed in our seats if someone stepped a foot out of place... literally doing nothing at all. Wouldn't have dared given the hawk eyes. Nowhere to step out on set break. Wandered around a bit second set and almost every nook and cranny we wee ushered to move along. It was weird. Esp how relatively tame we were. Having said all that some incredible moments. There were periods where to be honest I found the energy to be a little flat in comparison to some of what I had heard prior (but maybe it was me). My highlights were similar to KevO. Here comes sunshine and definitely Althea in first set...nice whimsical vibe. The dark star, drum space back into dark star>China doll were worth the trip alone and a moment I will hold onto. I found Casey Jones to be a weird and abrupt close. But I am left wanting to see more of this band so that's an absolute win. Hoping rumours of more touring are true and that Mayer continues to get looser and gritty it up to complement his beautiful fluidity

I don't really have the words. Admittedly the venue where such inhumane tragedy occurred struck a particular chord and made things feel eerily close to home. Sending love and light and strength and hope for a sense of calm and recovery to all impacted. http://mobile.nytimes.com/2015/11/14/world/europe/paris-attacks.html
  12. http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6760700/john-mayer-thank-you-dead-and-company-grateful-dead-tour Cosmic perspective seems to be setting in Looking forward to tonight and sure hope that the universe is on our side to get there on time...
  13. Oh man. No way. I was basically introduced to him at Bonnarroo....blew me away. Always enjoyed his guest appearances on the show Treme as well.
  14. Circles Around The Sun, Interludes For The Dead, released on Black Friday by Rhino Records. This is the Fare Thee Well pre-show/ set break music created by the ever so talented Neal Casal, Adam MacDougall, Dan Horne, and Mark Levy. Amazon Pre-orders are happening now.
  15. Get on the bus! Er...limo...almost shuddered at myself on that note. We are such a classy high-rolling bunch though...
  16. DevO my friend Alison organized. Are you friends with Jess? Possible we are on the same crazy train....odd we haven't met yet actually if you're in Hamilton.
  17. You can find us in the lot perhaps though guess timing could be tight...
  18. Going...dang wish I had held out for floors although not really into Stubhub. Have good seats but would have loved floors. I could inquire to see whether our limo SUV is full in the event you want in. I believe it might be, but could be wrong. Will be departing from Hamilton. Oops nevermind just saw you plan on hoteling.
