    Sweet Merch

I've only seen them once. Over 12 years ago now (!) for the SARS benefit. AC/DC put on a GREAT performance and by all accounts that I recall, they stole the show right out from under The Stones.
  2. Distance was no match for the super perception poweraid I ingested shortly before...gotta keep hydrated
  3. Ha. Ya... Btw...I believe I had a Velvet sighting...but from a distance so I couldn't finnagle a hello Nice to see Northern Wish & bachelor crew doing things up right.
  4. Man almost ashamed and surprised to say I've still never seen him. My son has been begging to see him too but recently made another commitment (albeit a fun one) for the same night. Dang
  5. Hm. Not the press that festival is looking for I'm sure. Odd.
  6. I had a great time, despite it being a relatively short stay. Due to work didn't get there til late Friday afternoon and had to leave on Sunday. Second set on Sunday in particular looked like a great time...was sorry to miss it, but good in terms of shortening my necessary recovery time! This was my first phish fest. The weather was great. Ended up on the outskirts...the hike multiple times a day was a little taxing but it made for really quiet sleeping conditions which I was more than happy about. I found the venue to be spacious. They easily could have held another 10,000 or more, but to be honest I was happy that it wasn't any further rammed, especially in the concert bowl. Lines for food and drinks were more than reasonable...same with the bathrooms. That kind of nitty gritty stuff was well taken care of from my vantage point. They played great. My favourite sets of the weekend overall were Saturday. Top highlights included Undermind, Tweezer, and definitely the Possum into Cities!! Normally I find glowsticks to be just short of annoying...but have to say there were some pretty impressively aligned tosses that lit up the whole sky and resulted in some amplified eye candy. The other MAJOR highlight for me...a lifesaver really was the morning yoga sessions. Incredible energy to draw from...a quirky, sometimes comical instructor that clearly enjoyed himself each night prior, and some gospel inspired Jerry floating in the background. It was well worth getting my butt moving and was the perfect start to each day. Only real complaint is I found the sightlines to be pretty limiting...especially if you were anywhere in the left side off the venue. I really don't know why they wouldn't invest in even a small screen. The entire Friday I don't think I caught but a glimpse of a single member of the band. and we were relatively close. Saturday found some better pockets but felt that could be improved upon. Sound was good though and that is most important. So great to hear them sounding so healthy and charged!
  7. Heart goes out to anyone shut out. Came real close to being in the same situation... doh!!! Getting excited...
  8. Happy birthday! Neat and tidy celebrations I am sure
  9. You're getting me all riled up over here!
  10. Will be my first phish festival!
  11. Wow, that's awesome! On many ongoing levels.
  12. One of the biggest potential winners in all of this is John Mayer himself...potentially grants him access to a whole new audience and level of respect amongst musicians and music lovers alike. I'm sure financially he is already in excellent shape so I could see this being a huge and welcomed opportunity for him to grow and cultivate some good ole' fashioned cosmic depth.
  13. I'd go if it was in my hood. Won't be dropping the money that was spent to go to Chicago to do anything similar any time soon, and I stand by the fact that those shows were special and unique...the whole scale of the experience was really one for the ages. And hey if they continue to play in various different contexts, with various different collborators that is all good by me. If they are healthy enough to keep sharing the music in interesting ways I don't really see any reason why they shouldn't. I think this line-up will surely be interesting. The way or wording of how the fare-thee well shows were marketed was very specific and strategic. Not surprised by this in the slightest and my reaction overall is a positive one. Keep on keepin on!
  14. Almost but not quite. Rain caused a significant delay which resulted in Doyle Bramhall II forfeiting his opening slot but he did sit in with both the dap kings and TTB. All in all turned out to be a good night. The magenta sky over the Niagara gorge was intense. Such a beautiful venue. It was really busy...busiest I've seen there. Lots of people wiping out on the wet hills. With my bum ankle opted not to finnagle thru the crowd which resulted in a spot which fairly poor sight lines but the sound still carried through well enough. Susan certainly seems to be driving that band. One of the finest female vocalists of all time really. I enjoy her more every time I see her. And Trucks as always brought the smooth honey buttery tone. And Sharon Jones...talk about queen mother of soul. She makes me smile
  15. Sweet little double bill at ArtPark tonight for a steal in price as far as I'm concerned. Anyone going? Show starts early...5:30 so they say.
  16. It's got a Dancing in the Streets vibe to my ears which is all fine and dandy by me. Getting excited for magna!
  17. Happy belated Phorbesie! Hope to hang in person sometime!

    Wayhome Festival??

Very bizarre. Reminds me of my buddy Rusty at the first night in Chicago. Security would only let him bring in his smokes if he removed them from the pack and threw the pack away. WTF?
