  1. Gotta say...is that a sales pitch or are you looking for someone to justify your conscience? Don't look at me. A burning temptation to sell tickets is certainly not what looking at stub hub makes me feel... but to each their own.
  2. Aaaah...been debating back and forth on whether to go for best available or GA floors. Hard because we can't even really see what all the options are right now other than the seating plan
  3. Good luck everyone. Still in limbo land. No rejection, no confirmation email, nothing processed on the money orders. Still have some shreds of hope given no update has been provided by grateful dead ticketing. But putting my hat into the fray soon nonetheless and hoping the universe treats me kindly.
  4. Oooooohhhh....I'd be curious what makes you think that DB?
  5. Hey Mark, Sorry it is not looking like I am going to be able to make it. Todd is out of town and no sitter. I really hope this goes well for you and looking forward to the next chance to hear some of your new material!
  6. Wow Ike's beard has really grown This is really great news!!
  7. Congrats you two!! I will hold out hope and glad to hear that they at least process the orders so you can find out that way. Eeeeeeek. Well debacle or not they sure have created some incredible hype!!!
  8. Plus for many that is a central factor in the feasibility or "cost/benefit" analysis. Not to make it all about money and costs but these are real concerns for many people who have already stretched themselves beyond their means in the hopes of being a part of something so special. When making the decision as to whether one can realistically afford to shell out all that it would cost to make the trip knowing whether they are partaking in 1 show as opposed to 3 shows is a pretty important variable.
  9. Ya I don't think that's ungrateful at all...it is marginally better information than not knowing anything which is where I (and surprisingly quite a few) still seem to be at. Perhaps the fact I haven't received said email is indication though. Having said all that congratulations!!! That is exciting. But I would personally like to know which nights my order were fulfilled for prior to the general onsale (and certainly well well before June). That's a lot of money to just have tied up with so much uncertainty.

Bwahaha the same thought came to my mind about the Ottawa slipfish connection...for some reason I can't quote today
  12. I just heard this news on the weekend (being a non-facebooker). I feel for Ike...to have that happen in your own home too. It doesn't get much worse than that. I sure hope this can turn around some way.
  13. Dang...had considered going to that Cleveland show for a fleeting moment but it wasn't to be. I have yet to see these guys live yet.
  14. Pardon my ignorance but who is that on the poster? I thought it was Andre 3000 at first glance...
  15. I'd agree that I never really noticed MacDougall until more recently with the Crowes (right before their hiatus and again for their brief stint back). Actually after seeing him play a more front and centre role with the CRB was when I really began to pay more attention to what he contributed to the Crowes. It is true that CRB is really nothing like the Crowes, but I am completely ok with that. I love both for very different reasons. They are entirely different bands. I saw both of those shows at the Ballroom and I thought their evolution between the first and second show was significant. And their growth continues to slap me upside the head every time I have seen them since. Most recently being a few weeks ago...vocals were fantastic...most passionate I've seen Chris sing in probably a decade...have grown to love the lyrical substance and sentiment behind many of their songs...amazing improvisation and psychedelia, tone sweet tone, and I love the p-funk inspired weirdness that MacDougall brings. I find it an absolute pleasure to watch him do his thing. But I don't mind the gang ups its always a good reminder that my impression isn't the centre of the universe...because at the time when I am listening it sure feels like it is!
  16. I couldn't disagree more. MacDougall is one of if not my most favorite keys player out there. He is one funky crazy rhythm bending freak. Wizard indeed. I love Casal ' s tone and grounded presence amidst the swirling jams. I think the new drummer sounds great...bassist drops the bombs. Last time I saw them it was the best I've seen them yet which has been quite a number of times now. Their growth trajectory is just taking off as far as I can feel and if Chris wants to evolve as a guitarist in this new space he's found himself in I'm all for supporting that. I find he's adding some worthwhile texture to the mix
  17. Anyone else still alive? My money orders including the $2.00 one for mailing back rejects or tickets have not been processed
  18. Can't say it enough these days but I just love love love the crb and where they have been taking things

I think of it as more of a loose collective...Friends and friends of friends. I haven't known perhaps the majority of people yet somehow do on some level by the time I leave. Yes numbers and capacity and avoiding sketch factor and maintaining respect for the land, and a good balance between the element of free let 'er hang shake it out expression while ensuring children are in a positive environment are all ongoing concerns. Careful disclosure (or lack thereof) of location is a big part of that. I don't really anticipate the documentary resulting in an onslaught of riff raff that would cause problems or a volume issue that is way beyond control. And at least if it ever gets to that we have Tonin and his brand of ruthless security to shut that down...Afroman style... Plus Joni carries a chainsaw with her at all times to cut people down to size if need be.

Ha, that's my little man from a couple of years ago in the background on the swing in the third photo. Yet another reminder of how big they are all getting. I was asking Rowen a couple of weeks ago if he has any interest in coming to a new festival with his ma this year...he wasn't overly interested in a couple of the options I threw out there but he sure put in a strong pitch for going back to jamland! Not that I needed my arm twisted but he was quite the thorough salesman!

I'd love to see some of you folks out at the screening and at jamland...I think you would really dig just how special it is. So much of all of the best things that we love and talk about on this board are captured in this little piece of space and time. So happy for you Mark that this is all coming to light!
