  1. Yay! It's officially the first day of spring!! Even though there's still snow on the ground and it's hella cold out, I'm excited! Now someone tell winter to fuck off!
  2. Yay! We have a 1 acre lot, lots of room for a tent!! We also have a fire pit, so a bag'o buzz can be arranged for that as well! I'm looking forward to seeing you soon, and I'm looking forward to hearing of your adventures!
  3. Ha.. I was listening to "Tales" a few days ago when they were talking about the Spectrum shows and a guy called in with a story about his experience.. He started telling about his peyote trip there and how he was erect for the entire show when his phone cut off.. It was pretty funny.. I enjoy listening to Deadheads' stories about way back in the day.. Fun stuff!
  4. Think Sunshine and Rainbows! That'll cheer you up! Hang in there, summer's on its way!
  5. Of course we will! Keep in touch, and I can't wait to party it up with you Appalachian style!
  6. I'm still super pumped as our departure date gets closer! We should be there in about a week! Yay! Beauty and weirdness awaits!
  7. I think we're gonna try to hit this festy on the weekend.. Saturday and Sunday most likely since Baj has limited vacation days starting out.. But it's at most a 2 hour drive to the festival grounds.. We don't have any set plans yet, but it looks like a good idea to maybe find somewhere to camp on Saturday night when we're there, but I haven't much looked into any of that yet.. I'll let you know if I find any cool camp spots, and once we get to Asheville I'll ask around and see what people say about all that stuff! Our estimated arrival time is in about a week! Yay!
  8. Baj and I will most likely check it out, I was just looking at the line-up and schedule and was pretty impressed! You have a place to crash at our house in Asheville, phunkyb!
  9. Wikipedia again: Four of the constituent states of the United States officially designate themselves Commonwealths: Kentucky, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. This designation, which has no constitutional impact, emphasizes that they have a "government based on the common consent of the people" as opposed to one legitimized through their earlier Royal Colony status that was derived from the King of Great Britain. The word commonwealth is of English derivation and refers to the common "wealth" or welfare of the public. In common parlance, people do not make the distinction between state or commonwealth.
  10. Ok, I was born and raised in Kentucky, and as a matter of fact, it is a state, along with Virginia, Mass, and Pennsylvania.. Just because they are commonwealths doesn't mean they're not states.. To back me up, Wikipedia says: Kentucky is one of four U.S. states to be officially known as a commonwealth. Just wanted to clear that up.. There are 50 stars on the US flag.. Representing 50 states..
  11. Joni, you better come visit us!! We would LOVE it! (And you would love it in that little mountain town!) And if you can't make it down, we will definitely see you at Gratefulfest, right??
  12. I'm American.. And there's 50.. But don't think that Canadians are dumb because if you ask Americans, you'll probably get the same mixed answers.. So maybe generalize the statement to say PEOPLE are dumb! Haha! (not ALL people, just LOTS of people..)
  13. Thanks for trying, phorbesie! Northern Wish, I definitely will try to check that out, it sounds almost as fun as when we stumbled into a roller skating disco party in NYC.. And we'll definitely be down there by then, the Disco Biscuits play Asheville on 4/20! Yay! I'm still super excited, and I hope that a heady road trip will be in the works for some of y'all! Looking at jambase's festival schedule, it looks like there's a lot of amazing festy's lined up for the summer.. Including Shakori Hills Grassroot Festival, Revolution Festival, Merlefest, French Broad River Festival, Lake Eden Arts Festival, Smoky Mountain Bluegrass Festival, Asheville Music Jamboree, Bele Chere, The Gathering of the Peacemakers, and more! 16. According to Wikipedia: Asheville pops up on national rankings for a variety of things: Modern Maturity named it one of "The 50 Most Alive Places To Be," AmericanStyle magazine called it one of "America's Top 25 Arts Destinations," Self magazine labeled it the "Happiest City for Women," it is one of AARP Magazine's "Best Places to Reinvent Your Life," and was proclaimed the "New Freak Capital of the U.S." by Rolling Stone. Asheville has also been called "a New Age Mecca" by CBS News' Eye On America, and named the "most vegetarian-friendly" small city in America by PETA. In the 2008 book The Geography of Bliss, by Eric Weiner, Asheville was cited by the author to be the "happiest place in the United States." How heady is that?? Yay! So excited!

  18. Hey y'all! Baj and I just returned from a heady trip to Asheville, North Carolina, and I am super duper excited to announce that we're moving there!!! A big Congratulations to Baj, who landed an amazing job there, making it possible for our move! It was a whirlwind of a visit.. We caught 2 DSO shows there (and one in Roanoke, VA on the way down), and they were awesome! (we'll be posting some pics and setlists later..) Along with the DSO shows, we hiked in the Great Smoky Mountains, met some friendly folks, found our way around town, wandered into some weirdly fun situations, and even had time to secure a house to rent! What an amazing city, and I'm super pumped to be keeping Asheville weird! It seemed like all the planets were aligned to ensure the headiest of times while we were there.. Asheville is known as the happiest city in North America (and on earth in some listings!), and I can definitely feel the vibe! WooooooooooHooooooooo! We're so excited!!!
  19. Ticketmaster sucks! They love adding on unexpected fees.. I once paid (along with the convenience and processing fees) an extra $6.50 or so for an out-of-state fee because I was buying something for New York and I was in Connecticut (which was literally a half hour away).. What the fuck?
