  1. yeah, that was a blast. I'd do that trip again anytime. I love Ottawa, I spent a lot of time there as a kid and it feels good and right to be back. I'm not looking to really move from Hamilton but if I were, Ottawa would be near the top of my list. Not least because of the nice people there. It was great to meet some new faces, people I feel like I know a little from here but have never met. Thank you to those who just walked up and said hello, despite my daily obnoxious ramblings on here, I can be quite shy sometimes. Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome and especially Booche for inviting me into his home so I could witness him running around and yelling a lot, as I presume is par for the course. Also, thanks for getting me there and back so safely edger. Next time we'll have to find some time to explore Ottawa a little bit a'ight? The key words there are "next time". The Fat Cats played a solid set despite some static on the equipment end. Those boys have heart and soul, and no end of good tunes, and I was proud to share them with my friends in Ottawa. I'll try to encourage them to do it again sooner than later. Mavericks was a nice place. Good sightlines, decent sound and the bar staff was cool. It was great to drop in and experience life as the Ottawa skanks see it for a night. MarcO happy.
  2. it was nice to say Happy Birthday to ya in person this weekend Jay! All the best brah.
  3. I awoke with a massive hangover in Ottawa, hugged Lynne and then cruised back to The Hammer, where I ate some homemeade cabbage rolls awaiting me. Now it's almost time for CSI:Miami. life is good.
  4. I hope they open and close both sets with Shakedown Street.
  5. I've got a new line of paddles coming out for 2007.
  6. 'Historic' storm hits Ontario
  7. sure, go! I've seen them a couple of times. I've come to conclude that they're not quite right for my tastes but they are a great band.
  8. no, that's how I feel. I don't want to confuse my personal admiration for the man and the band he formed, with his actual eminence in the bigger picture.
  9. it's been extremely problematic. ah well, it's not easy being a wet blanket, but I do try. carry on with the Trey love. Sorry to invade with guns blazing. I'm an unhelpful asshole.
  10. because I like them. I know this may be confusing for you.
  11. then why do I have these hundreds of shows of theirs?
  12. is that really the best you can come up with?
  13. face it, in historical terms, Trey Anastasio is an insignificant pimple. He'll be remembered as an average but talented guitar player who formed a band with deservedly limited appeal. Outside of the tiny "jamband" world, nobody cares, as it should be. There, I said it.
  14. I'll have to see what the boss is saying. Not Bruce Springsteen, I mean someone else who is not at all like Bruce Springsteen, thankfully for me.
  15. first I've heard of him.
  16. I'm hoping the boys get a good turnout! They deserve it, they really helped pave the way for a lot of younger bands currently making the rounds across Canada, and haven't been to Ottawa for so long. Plus, their songs are top notch!
  17. Let's face it, cyberhippie is dead. He played with fire, he got burnt. Let's just move on.
  18. I loved looking at those Alan, thank you!
  19. I've been tapped into Eno for a long time, but I admit it's been many years since I heard this album. I always kind of picked him up at "Another Green World" and moved forward ("Before and After Science" is a classic too, and underrated). I must relisten to this album when I get a chance.
