Another time he invited all his closest friend and his entire family - including his beloved granny, flown with other family over from England - to his LA estate to celebrate his star on the walk of fame. He spent most of the party alone in his room snorting coke, popping pills and drinking vodka. His entrance to his own party was to hurl himself into the pool, screaming that he wanted to die. And yes, his string of albums from about 1970 to 1974 was remarkable. I bet he's still great in concert!

besides Plans, the only other one I have is Transatlantacism, and it is excellent too. I wish I had treated myself to one of their Massey Hall shows this week but it just wasn't in the cards. I like this band a lot.

unfunny in the sense that since the "announcement", I have been arranging time off work, sleeping arrangements for friends etc.....

I'm genuinely surprised people care about them anymore. I don't mean that in a negativity-as-an-exercise-in-curing-boredom kind of way, I just mean that their last few albums have been underwhelming and released to the relatively deafening sound of indifference. There was a time when a new Hip album was a major event. Seriously, good on 'em.
