    Its here

Hey, can you and Paisley go Christmas shopping again this year? (At least I think it was you and Paisley.)
  2. Well whether it was me or someone else, at a packed show, the sightlines up close on that side really sucked.
  3. I say good riddance to the Black Sheep stage. Do you know how many times I got stuck behind the sightline of that one little tree that was stage left? Or how impossible it was to navigate to and from the beer tent for a packed show? This will be a little further trip for me but better sightlines is a huge advantage.
  4. In. Ottawa is the drizzling shits for tacos. I don't even think we have Taco Bell anymore, outside of movie theatre food courts.
  5. They listed him as 31 years old, FWIW. Decent fight. He held his own and lost by unanimous decision (30-27). He was better standing, obviously, and only seemed to be able to play defence on the ground. Joe Rogan had a bunch of nice things to say about him. Did anyone see the main event? The totally cocky dude got knocked out in the first round. It was pretty great.
  6. Don't forget about your appeal to the lowest common denominator.
  7. R.I.P. Peter Boyle Check out the movie "Joe".

    Picky Eaters

Found this link at Ottawa Foodies: None for me This fascinates me. It seems like an extreme form of stubborness but it's obviously real to these people.
  9. The ironing of this commment is delicious! Bringing it back to food.

    BEER!!

You can buy beer at two places in Ottawa: The Beer Store and the LCBO. The quality of selection will depend on location. The biggest LCBO, and I assume best selection, is at King Edward and Rideau. A Beer Store with good selection is the one on Scott St., near Holland. It's also the kind where you get to pick your own beer versus ordering it, so there's more opportunity for browsing. Actually, you could cruise on over to Hull for a 3rd option. There's a depanneur at Victoria and Laval that has a good selection of Quebec microbrews.
  11. I think even better than Lowell Green is Mark Sutcliffe in Michael Harris' spot trying to talk logic with the Green beanies. He's really good at remaining calm and having an answer for every ridiculous scenario they throw at him. Pity it's over now.
  12. When's the draw for the knockout stage?
  13. Not even on the second page! http://www.jambands.ca/sanctuary/showtopic.php?tid/236287/ (I can't wait for Davey Boy's "We need a truthiness forum" reply.)
  14. Like petulant school children, the lot of you forum whiners!
  15. Someone needs to start a burger thread, or dredge one up from the past. My question was more along the lines of "What makes a good restaurant burger"? As for my own personal burger recipe, I use 100% ground beef, preferably medium. That's it, that's all.
  16. 5 goals for Spurs to break the Sportsnet goal-less drought!! If only my girlfriend hadn't tipped me to the score before I had a chance to watch the match it wouldn't have been quite so anticlimactic.
  17. I read about the story this morning when the woman was still unidentified then a few minutes later I saw the breaking news on the crawl on TSN. Horrible news.
  18. I heard an interesting point on the radio this morning that I've been mulling. How do you feel about taxpayer money going to pride celebrations? Some people I talk to aren't happy about this and use similar language in decrying it, "I don't want this lifestyle shoved down my throat", much like some of you don't want the carols and nativity scenes forced down yours in a public setting. And now I'm starting to think about the various cultural festivals around town and if they receive taxpayer money. I really do find myself sympathizing with the Christian point of view in the sense that it is becoming more and more marginalizing to express it.
  19. I am admittedly way over my head on this issue. Take my comments for what they're worth. Dave, I would really like to sit down with you one day and pick your brain. Unfortunately, every time I see you in person my own brain is too pickled to think of anything coherent to ask.

    BEER!!

I'm jealous AD! One of my favourite things about crossing the border is getting to bring back a whole wack of new beer on the way back. I'm currently working on a tallboy of Mooshead. Meh.
  21. you're not affected by affirmative action' date=' because we've basically done away with affirmative action! is it fair that the majority is to feel the victim?[/quote'] Oops... that's me you're quoting, not d_rawk. Thing is... I don't feel like a victim! Just like I don't feel like a victim speaking only english in a bilingual city. Just like I don't think non-Christians should feel like victims of Christmas. Basically, I wish we could remove the notion of being a victim for our society and just get on with things. It's a disservice to real victims that the word is co-opted so frequently.
  22. I hope he meant two days in Canada. I'd love to see the Mule play somewhere like Ottawa or Montreal.
