  1. Who wouldn't love to tour with this thing? Who you gonna call?
  2. Available in April... Planet Earth There is an HD-DVD version to, but I can only find it on amazon.com... HD
  3. Thanks for that...a really interesting read. I wonder if the big record companies will ever really embrace the digital distribution of music...I think for better or worse (better in my opinion) the big 4 are a dying breed.
  4. Like Kaidy Mae I am looking for a new job as well, and came across these jobs (which are not in my feild): Marketing/communication job in the k-dub. Communications Specialist Marketing job in London: Marketing Officer (click on job title for a PDF job description) Keep an eye on the University and College websites...they quite often have marketing and/or Communication positions...and they can be pretty good places to work...thats why I'm trying to get back into one!
  5. Here's another link of the performance: Prince @ halftime My wife made an interesting comment about Prince...have you noticed he hasn't really aged a bit in the past 20 years...kinda creepy!
  6. So upon listening to Revolver for the first time in a while I too was reminded that the Beatles are indeed the best band ever... Are there recommendations for good biographies of the band? I'm thinking something more factual than gossip...?
  7. I second this question...couldn't seem to find anything through google, of course I have the attention span of a 4 year old.
  8. I have a friend who has her two dogs (a jack russell and a german wire-haired pointer) on a completely raw diet...they are really thriving, have no build-up on their teeth and don't have bad breath. Its actually not as expensive as you might think, but you have to be willing to do a lot of work (cleaning raw meat off bones, grinding up meat/veggies/suplements etc). If anyone is interested I am sure I could get some websites from her that would give more info...just PM me! mike
  9. I tend to go in spurts where I grab a lot at once...like Alabama Man, Christmas and my birthday are my biggest "new cd" purchases, and usually it is pretty even between older "catalouge" items, and a couple of new CD's. I haven't really got anything new since Christmas because I am currently ripping all my cd's for my ipod...and rediscovering many of my old cd's. I think I will be downloading a lot more now though as opposed to buying them at any record stores...though I will miss the artwork, but honestly downloading from itunes and "other" sources is so easy now I have become to lazy to go to an actual store to buy anything (not just CD's, but books, DVD's etc.). For the record these days I find myself buying much more DVD's and books.
  10. Cool...must've been a pretty Canadian front row...we were also sitting beside two friends of ours that had mail ordered seperately (we didn't know we were sitting beside them until we saw them at the Windsor Tim Hortons a few hours before the show). We were on Pages side holding a Canadian flag with the phish logo instead of the maple leaf that my buddy made...there's a picture kicking around of the four of us holding it that the security guard (!!) took for us...
  11. The Detroit show is still one of the highlight's of all of the Phish shows I was at (it helps that I was front row)...I am still kicking myself for not making it a run. I had a group of friends who went through all the way until the Albany shows. 1997 is my personal favorite era of Phish...
  12. Seems like a pretty good price point. I would assume that carriers would also add incentives on top of that...so probably in line with the high end treo/blackberry market. And oh so much prettier...
  13. Here's a few more from the 2001 Jambands.ca Fall Music Festival... Nero on my Flickr page
  14. I like 'em...I believe its at least one of the guys from Death Cab for Cutie...who I also like. Actually I'm pretty sure its the other way around...I think Sam Beam (Iron and Wine) actually did the covering!
  15. Tonight at nine eastern...on WGBH (Boston): Dead Ahead
  16. Tom Waits - Orphans Jason Collett - Idols... Bob Dylan - Nov. 3rd, 2006 Damien Rice - 9
  17. Great episode...loved the banjo... Dwight wasn't in it much which kinda sucked but he did have one good line: "I am greatly concerned about having a convict in the office. And I do not care if that convict is white, black, Asian, German or some kind of halfsie. I do not like criminals."
  18. FYI the microchip implanting is fairly painless (basically a needle is inserted under their skin, the microchip injected and voila!). Well maybe some pain, but its over quickly. Declawing on the other hand is very painful even days after the surgery...I'm a big suporter of microchipping not so much of declawing. And Deeps...Nice one!
  19. This is a great volunteer oppurtunity...For those of us in Southwestern Ontario here is another orginization that a friend of mine is involved in (she is actually disabled, and grew up with this organization teaching her to ski): http://www.track3.org/ I will hopefully become involved next year, when I have saved enough money to buy some equipment (its been a few years since I skied last).
  20. My parents just bought this for my daughter...she was a little nervous of him (it??) at first, (she's only a year and a half), but loves it now. But let me tell you I must have watched that thing over and over again for a half hour...to much fun!
