    Phish - Albany

For anyone who might be interested in going to shows after Phish, I found two, both at Jillian's. First, on Friday, Nov. 27, The Heavy Pets (live recordings of which can be found here) is playing. Second, on Saturday, Nov. 29, Raisinhead (live recordings of which can be found here) is playing. It also looks like Jillian's is about a quarter-mile straight walk from the Times Union Center; the TUC is at 51 S. Pearl St., Jillian's is at 59 N. Pearl St. Aloha, Brad
  3. The headiest I've heard of is either Monkeyjunk @ Irene's or The Spades @ The Merchant Tap House in Kingston, ON. Aloha, Brad, Who'd Fly To The UK To See nero On NYE If They Were Playing There Then
  4. I actually give Phish a lot of respect for providing that kind of value-added material for that segment of the Phish fanbase that likes to note time markings when Trey messes up, and so on. (Given that there are people who do it, they must receive some value from doing it; if Phish didn't make the odd flub [or heavydutyflub], that value wouldn't be there for them.) Aloha, Brad
  5. This weekend will be my first Phish shows since Coventry; I don't even think I've heard any recordings of them from this year, so I'm anxious to the point of being giddy. Bring on Albany! Aloha, Brad
  6. I knew it'd happen! On Monday, December 21, 2009, Sisters Euclid are going to be playing at The Orbit Room in Toronto. From the event info on Kevin Breit's MySpace page: Add this to BNB on Dec. 19, and the start of my holiday is set. Aloha, Brad

    Olympiclog?

As of Monday at 7:45am, it looks like you can still vote; mine was just recorded, making the count 418. Aloha, Brad
  8. My minions other personalities people do a lot of the work. Aloha, Brad
  9. The gig is a release party for a new compilation CD from bands that have recorded at Lonesome Studios. Aloha, Brad
  10. Assume you have one of these iRae-dios, and you're driving down the highway, and end up behind a car with one of those fish-shaped metal-outline "Jesus" badges on the end flap of the trunk lid...what tunes would you spin up? If you had the iMicrophone attachement, what, if anything, would you say? Aloha, Brad
  11. Drive back afterwards? Aloha, Brad
  12. Beats me. While I prefer their rockier stuff, "cheeseball" and "George Strait" are two phrases I wouldn't use to describe any of their material. (I think their sound has been fairly consistent since I started seeing them about a year and a half ago.) Aloha, Brad
  13. It looks like Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad is doing an after-party in Syracuse on Sunday night: http://www.jambase.com/shows/event.aspx?EventID=1097937 Live GPGDS can be found at http://www.archive.org/details/GiantPandaGuerillaDubSquad Aloha, Brad
  14. How about some Zeppelin? "Achilles Last Stand", "Carouselambra", "Custard Pie", or "Trampled Under Foot" would be blastular Aloha, Brad
  15. http://www.jambands.ca/sanctuary/showtopic.php?tid/254590/ I'll be out tonight for some rocking country soul music, for (as far as I know) free at a really cool pub in a great location. Is anyone else interested? Aloha, Brad
  16. I did some searching, and didn't find an mk4 source, but did find two others. First, a Neumann km184 source: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=512042 which one comment describes as "the best I heard from this date", and second, a Schoeps CMC6/MK41 source: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=522636 One difference between them is that with the Schoeps source, the YEM is "barely cut at the end"; the Neumann source has it complete. Aloha, Brad

    BEER!!

Heritage Brewing in Ottawa is having a Holiday Beer Bash on Tuesday, November 24, from 5pm - 7pm, featuring their new Blackcurrent Rye Beer, and music from Mike Sasso. Aloha, Brad * I suspect that Mike is unfamiliar with the celebrations of Canada Day that took place at THAT PLACE.
