  1. No, both because nobody almost peed on it, and because I wasn't trying to hide it. Aloha, Brad

  7. How about having your first show be the only one so far in Ottawa? http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=518290 And how about not having heard any of their music until Trey ripped into the "Rift", and then being hooked completely thereafter? Trampolines? Good times? Bad times? You know I've had my share. Aloha, Brad, Who Now Knows A Lot Of People Who Were Also At That Phish Show, Though He Didn't Know Them Then, He Met And Got To Know Them Later
  8. which has a mind-melting 17-minute "My Favorite Things" on it. Aloha, Brad
  9. I'd be interested in tagging along and splitting expenses if the logistics can be worked out. Aloha, Brad
  10. I hope this show has implications for the Burt Neilson Band Rumour, especially the "Can Jam All-Star Show!" part. Aloha, Brad
  11. What do people think of building something like Lansdowne Live at the Bayview location? It already has great public transit access (from the East, West, and South), is largely ugly and unused space (and is near the water to boot), and would allow Lansdowne to be used for something else, like maybe just a big central park. Aloha, Brad
  12. [color:purple]The bus strike wasn't cancelled. Aloha, Brad
  13. 61 votes! That seems worthy of a bump. Aloha, Brad
  14. Isn't there a municipal election happening in 2010? Imagine if some ambitious political newcomer ran for mayor (and won) on a campaign that included canceling this huge project, resulting in the city getting charged or sued for a big multi-mullion dollar penalty...nah, that kind of thing never happens... 16. If you're in Ottawa and are looking for something to do this Saturday, November 21, there's a cool event happening at the Canadian Legion at 330 Kent St. A pair of musicians (Ray Lavoie and Pat Calnan) are doing a "retrospective" concert, featuring reunitings of all (or most) of the bands they have played in, one of which is The Gutterboys, whose bass player was and will be Todd Snelgrove, known 'round these parts as Velvet. The doors are at 8pm, with the music starting at 9pm; The Gutterboys (which is the main band of the evening, as far as I know) should start around 10pm, and I think the cover is just $1.00 (yes, a lone loonie). Aloha, Brad
  17. On Wednesday, December 9, 2009, The Wood Brothers (one of whom is Chris Wood, bassist in Medeski, Martin, and Wood) will be playing at Petit Campus in Montreal, QC. Aloha, Brad
  18. It looks like round 3 is underway, and I was able to vote on voodoolady's proposal (the first to do so), so does that mean it's still in the running? Aloha, Brad
  19. None. And that's my biggest issue. On the other hand' date=' I dont want to live in city watching another Kingston Block D situation go down. [/quote'] Wasn't it open to an international design contest at one point? It was, but it was put on hold when the Lansdowne Live proposal was submitted, and it now looks like there won't be a competition at all, making LL, in effect, the winner by default ("Yeah, de fault of de council..."). Aloha, Brad
  20. And the best part is that it's really easy to always be at the back-end of the beer line-up. Aloha, Brad
  21. I don't know. What are the other options? Aloha, Brad
  22. http://www.jambands.ca/sanctuary/showtopic.php?tid/253909/ Larry Graves, drummer of Mr. Something Something, is bringing his Harmattan Road band to Mercury Lounge on Saturday night. The doors are at 7pm, and the show is at 8pm. It'll feature African hand-drumming, horns (by Marcus Ali, brother of trumpeter Nick Ali), and chanting. Is anyone else planning on being there? (I think it'll end early pretty early, after which a DJ takes over. I may head to The Withering Pines @ Irene's after.) Aloha, Brad
