  1. Keen on enablin'. Happy Day, Cully! Aloha, Brad
  2. I went back tonight, but the timing changed my plans. I think their website lists lunch as 11:3am - 5:00pm, then dinner from 5:00pm to midnight. I went down to the market, did some shopping at the Rideau & King Edward LCBO, then strolled to Murray Street, getting there at 5:10pm. The problem is that they really don't start serving from the dinner menu until 5:30pm. No problem, I just sat down, orderd a Beau's Lug Tread, and ordered from the charcouterie menu, doing the 3 cheeses + 2 meats for $25 thing. Seeing as it came with crostini, it was pretty much a meal (albeit a light one) in itself. For the meats, I went with the smoked duck breast and the wild boar ham (which may be my favourite pork product, ever), and one each of the hard, medium, and soft cheeses (I can't remember which ones I got). Between the meats and the cheeses, the crostini, the olives, and those little tiny (but really tangy) pickles, it was a great meal; with tax and tip, it was $40. Aloha, Brad
  3. Well, that was more of a fiscal new year's show (but OK, they played "Auld Lang Syne"). Aloha, Brad
  4. I think if you asked them, they'd say it was a cover of "T For Texas" by Jimmy Rodgers. That was the second time I'd seen Adam, and I like his stuff a lot: really nicely written acoustic guitar + vocal numbers Right back at ya. Aloha, Brad
  5. Is there a preferred brand of beer for drinking in the shower? I suppose that Molson Golden might not be the best... Aloha, Brad
  6. I wonder if he has small children. How scared would they be on stage in that first grade-school play with dad in the audience? Aloha, Brad
  7. So the party is tent-a-tively scheduled? Aloha, Brad
  8. Or Brothers Chaffey at The Rainbow. There's also Charlie Hunter Trio at Club Soda in Montreal, which I really wish I was able to get to. Aloha, Brad
  9. http://www.jambands.ca/sanctuary/showtopic.php?tid/248839 Aloha, Brad
  10. http://www.jambands.ca/sanctuary/showtopic.php?tid/248676/ Anybody else up for some country/rockabilly tonight? I think the cover is $8, and I haven't seen any listing that there are any other acts on the bill (which makes me think/hope they'll do two sets). Aloha, Brad
  11. At Least The Universe Made Some Good Movies Aloha, Brad
  12. Only if you were drinking Zima. Aloha, Brad
  13. I've never consumed a beer while in the shower, so I have a couple of questions to those who do: How do you prevent the inevitable watering-down that'll happen? Is there some kind of nipple device available for beer bottles/cans? Unless you're taking a cold shower, won't the beer get warm? Or do you just drink it really quickly? Aloha, Brad

    BEER!!

For those in Ottawa who like Beau's beers (their Lug-Tread Ale is really nice), they'll be hosting a party at The Elmdale House Tavern on Saturday, September 27, 2008, featuring "the brewery's very own band - The Oh Yeahs." Aloha, Brad
  15. You mean that squeeze-a-snack stuff that was packaged as a short, fat sausage-shaped tube and that had to be manually squeezed out? I haven't seen it for years, but I think it's gone jet-powered. Aloha, Brad
  16. Cold cereal would require milk*, which needs to be refrigerated, but you could use powdered milk instead, and just add water when you wanted some. Aloha, Brad * Although I guess you could eat it dry, making it a kind of snack food.
  17. Would an already-baked loaf of bread (as purchased at a bakery, for example) count? Aloha, Brad
  18. Whoops. The music is freely-played-jazz, but in the past there's been a cover charge, either $5 or pay-what-you-can. In past shows, they usually started the first set between 9:30pm and 10:00pm. (They've always done two sets in previous shows.) Aloha, Brad
  19. According to http://www.kenwhiteley.com/ I didn't see anything about him playing anywhere on Sept. 11. Aloha, Brad
  20. A true sandal-wearing nerd would be typing using his toes. Aloha, Brad
