  1. (I really want to make it out for this tonight, but with a trip to Tornto for BNB tomorrow, then a trip back to Ottawa on Saturday followed by The Spades Saturday night, I may pass.) Aloha, Brad
  2. Grateful Dead - 1979-12-01 (Stanley Theatre, Pittsburgh, PA). (Thanks, Booche!) Aloha, Brad
  3. I assume so. I'll ask him tomorrow night. (I sent him a private message suggestion an opener, but haven't heard back yet.) Aloha, Brad

  7. Hux, Booche, can we stop this petty bickering, and get on to the real news of today: Rod Stewart is playing Ottawa Aloha, Brad
  8. Apparently during the Fox News report on this, while the correspondent was standing on the White House lawn and talking about the impending announcement, if you listened really carefully, you could hear people in the background chanting "Na-na-nahh-na, na-na-nahh-na, hey, hey, hey...goodbye" Aloha, Brad
  9. Doesn't "presentable" just mean "able to receive presents"? Aloha, Brad

    Hoagie House

I lived in Kingston for four years while I was at Queen's (1986-1991, with a one-year break in 1989/1990), and don't think I ever even went to The Hoagie House. (We used to order from Bubba's a lot in residence, though. Mmmmm...Bubba Burgers...) Aloha, Brad
  11. In the case of George Allen (of macaca fame), the results were so close (less than 0.5% difference, with 99.75% of precincts having reported) that there'll be a mandatory recount. Aloha, Brad
  12. Thanks, Velvet, I'll go with that being it. (Centragnome is the bane of my nero set-list-keeping skills; I recall at least three nero shows in a row that I went to during which I went up to Velvet and asked, "What song is this?" Every single time, it was Centragnome.) Aloha, Brad
  13. What was its name before? Aloha, Brad

    Hoagie House

Not Saturday night, I hope. Aloha, Brad
  16. I don't know if nero has a "Played too often" song, but (to my ears, anyway) they have at least one "Not played often enough" song: "Johnny Joe". (I also know of only two times "Sunspine" was played, both in January, 2003.) Aloha, Brad
  17. Any chance of a Toronto WTTS show the week before Christmas? Aloha, Brad
  18. Would you like to? Aloha, Brad
  19. It isn't if you ask her first and get her permission. Aloha, Brad
  20. Is looks like Nick Brownman Ali will be joining Moses Mayes for the Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto shows. http://brownman.com/GigSchedule/2006-11-sched.htm Aloha, Brad
  21. I don't think so; the song has (repeated) structure(s) to it, and I keep thinking I should recognize it, but I haven't yet. Aloha, Brad
  22. There's one song left in the set, and I'm stumped: they came out of Centragnome, and went into a slow, spacy/funky kind of thing, with Lauzon going all DJ/scratching on the strings at times. Later on, it has some much more punishing (rigid, fast) rhythmic sections. I checked most of the 2004 set lists, and no titles seemed right (I played a bunch on the LMA to be sure). It takes up the last seven or so minutes of the set, so I think it's a song on its own, as opposed to just an ending to Centragnome. Anybody have any ideas? Aloha, Brad
  23. How many coin jars do you need? Aloha, Brad
  24. Is it the cheapest best pizza? Aloha, Brad
  25. Jambase now lists the show http://www.jambase.com/search.asp?eventID=486432 with The Slip, The Lovely Feathers, and Land of Talk. Barrymore's doesn't (yet) have its December calendar up. Aloha, Brad
