    FREE HAMBURGER DAY

The best free burger would be one comprised of ground up starving Haitians IMO.
  3. Yeah he was lame - so was that other BC-based rapper who I think opened for him? I was sorry to hear that AC/DC fell through at the last minute, that woulda been swell.

  8. Nice run on sentence and thank you posting it I also can't tell whether you love/hate bluesfest but I take it that since you're coming it's probably to see WSP because you write like a WSP fan why are people so hard on Coldplay what did they ever do to you other than Chris marrying a fine actress and producing a baby named after a fruit I'm mostly excited about Steely Dan maybe I did too much blow and that's why I'm excited about them and writing like this I agree on the Wyclef data he's way overdone and so is fergie but maybe you're the only on on the internet who hasn't seen her pee stain photo and or read her bio where she talks about doing crack and meth and so on oh the tortured life of a tv star and musician well anyway bluesfest is a great thing it helps dispels ottawa's unofficial motto as the city where fun comes to die.
  9. Partially related - Interesting article about Backstreet Boys and N'Sync creator Ron Pearlman: http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/reuters/080521/entertainment/entertainment_fraud_pearlman_col By Barbara Liston ORLANDO, Florida (Reuters) - Boy band mogul Lou Pearlman, who launched the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync, was sentenced on Wednesday to 25 years in prison for swindling investors and major U.S. banks out of more than $300 million. In an audacious two-decade-long scam, Pearlman enticed individuals and banks to invest millions of dollars in two companies that existed only on paper and won the confidence of investors with strong but fake financial statements created by a fictitious accounting firm, according to his plea agreement. U.S. Judge G. Kendall Sharp held up a book with letters from Pearlman's victims, saying they included "his family, his close friends and people in their 70s and 80s who have lost their life savings." "So the sympathy factor doesn't run high with the court," Sharp said. Pearlman, 53, unsuccessfully sought to delay his sentencing to allow time to launch his latest creation, European pop band US 5, in the United States and Asia. Pearlman said he was developing US 5 at the time of his arrest and the bankruptcy trustees for his companies agreed he had the potential to earn "significant profits" on the band -- money that could be used to pay restitution to his victims. Pearlman proposed a plan for him to have supervised access to a telephone and Internet connection while in custody to pursue the business plan. Federal prosecutors opposed the plan, noting that Pearlman's fraud proved he could not be trusted in conducting business by phone or Internet.

I've established what it is but where can one buy this strange thing? It's not at Herb and Spice on Bank or in the west end neither. I've also heard you can make it.
  11. "Myanmar begins 3 days of mourning" Myanmar began three days of mourning Tuesday for some 78,000 cyclone victims after its ruling junta appeared to relent to foreign pressure to let in more outside help. But most foreign aid workers were still banned from the storm-devastated area, and the United Nations said only 20 percent of survivors had received some form of international assistance. the rest is at: http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/05/20/asia/cyclone.php
  12. I love jerk anything: chicken, pork, tofu, shrimp, etc. The Grace brand paste is outstanding.
  13. That's pretty strange. Is Roger's throttling in effect full-time? My downloading (through Primus, thus through Bell) is capped at 30k/sec from 4pm to 2am. If I start a torrent in the morning it will usually reach 200 or 300k/sec in a matter of minutes.
  14. Ha ha ha, find me a company that doesn't mind me hogging bandwidth for downloading and I'll fix up my CV! I doubt that the CAIP will get their way but I support them in trying to ensure fairer competition than what we have with telecommunications in Canada. I would also prefer that pricing structures be built around the amount you download rather than limiting download speed. That would be a more "net neutral" policy and those people who want/need to download hundreds of gigs a month would be able to pay for it.
  15. Yowch. I got kind of excited when I saw they were renovating because they've got one of the greatest facades in the city, at least the potential to have the greatest facade in the city. What's the new bar below them all about? Imperial I think?
  16. The components of a Mac can be found in PCs. Os X is a cleaner and simpler OS for the average user, not for you dual-booting linux-commanding dorks who crack open calculators and mod them. The Mac has aesthetic qualities to it that suit "hipsters" whereas PCs are designed to attract the eye of the "virgin". It really is important. If you don't think so then there's no woman in your house ensuring that whatever furniture you buy "ties the room together". So Mac users (i.e. "people who have coolness and get laid from time to time") is it worth switching to Leopard, and if so why? I love my iMac for all of these reasons, and probably for the simple reason that using Vista at work has been a big sloppy nightmare by comparison. It's not a "bad" OS it's just not good, and it's not designed with users in mind.
  17. Well then you're a rush-to-conclusion short-fused dickhead. How's that for a summary conviction? It was probably a Dead management decision and not a "Dead" i.e. band decision. Failing that it's all Bobby's fault.

    Cold Soups

I hate gazpacho. It's kind of a "gay" item and by that I don't mean homosexual I mean it's bright and cheery food. Like the original use of "gay". So you could say "My, what a lovely gay gazpacho you've made me" but that might open you up to a gay bashing of sorts.

    Nutella!!

Imaging getting caught standing naked at the fridge, smashing your junk into a nutella jar. If someone thought they caught you and said "hey, what are you doing?" you could say "uh uh I'm nutella you nothing!"

    Nutella!!

Teabagged Nutella's label should include a small banner that says "now with more nuts!"

    Nutella!!

If you teabagged the nutella jar then in french you could offer a special "sandwiche nutella d'epididymis"
  22. We started with a mimosa but used Poire William and pear nectar with champagne. Then we had smoked sockeye salmon with dill cream cheese on pumpernickel crostini. Then we made lemon ricotta hotcakes with fresh strawberries and maple syrup. Then we laid around.

    BBQ!!

I have cast iron gates on the 'cue so here's what I do. I don't clean them after cooking - instead I preheat them the next time and brush off the previous junk. Then I give them a wipe with a paper towel and peanut oil (owing to it's tolerance for high temperature). Don't use Pam or non-stick spray that is not a sprayable oil as it doesn't work well in high temperatures and leaves a sticky coating on the BBQ and the grates. You can do wood chips in a small aluminum tin or in foil and place them directly on the flame, just lower the flame underneath so you get them smoldering instead of catching them on fire or getting too much smoke. Never had a rotisserie and probably never will.
