  1. Yup - I have all of my media on 2 of the DNS320's...both RAID, one is music, the other is movies and projects/multitracks. Whenever I think of it I'll plug in a USB drive and dump photos/multitracks off as I'm not so worried about the music/movies...still have all my CD's in boxes, that would be a headstart I guess....but that 1.5TB of MP3's would be hard to accumulate again. Fuck it, Klezmer it is. (Davey Boy: Cabbage Rolls and Coffee, mmm mmm good!)
  2. I've been on a Christopher Moore bender - Lamb, Fluke and Fool stand out as my faves so far....funny as hell and the first books in a long time where I've checked to see how long the next chapter is, then stayed up an hour too late to finish 3 more...
  3. Alright foodies, how far will you go? TASTY DELICIOUS

    BEER!!

Yeah - Shane's 'IP Freely' was one of the best beers i've ever had. amazing.
  5. deleted: sorry tungsten, I got nailed for "adult material" before by Google Adsense. I can't take another hit. - bouche
  6. yup - those crane hoisted stages are the culprit in every catastrophe so far - Stick with the Stagelines!! These are the ones that are indesctructible - at Bluesfest i'm 99% sure all the rest of the stages were Stagelines - even the soundbooths/FOH. Here is the big daddy- i think this was the left hand main stage at Bluesfest: The other problem? 80% of your PA is flown now in line arrays - no more ground stacking. So between that and the lighting rigs(which are big heavy movers now, not light aluminum par cans) you've got all this deadweight that once helped, will pull the whole thing down for you.
  7. Pretty cool, stumbled across this on one of the recording geek sites I visit- http://www.tristudios.com/about
  8. 0h christ really Mike you had to ask? Then it should mean Old Guy hehehe... Happy Birthday! Thanks for not being a second Andre.
  9. this does look good - NW keep me in mind - might be heading to this too!
  10. Damn I was hoping for his newish band with Julie Slick in it.... Yum.
  11. when she was good...she was really good...this was probably the best i've seen:
  12. Now that's a cookin' fahhhrrr... I"m sure it could be argued for long enough to be worth it.
  13. Yessir! Happy Birthday Mr. Man! Hope to see ya sometime this summer!
  14. mmmm yup can't wait for some flying chestnuts! Dammn you for living so close...must...visit...
  15. HOLY SHIT!! No laptop either?
  16. Fack I had to suffer through a couple KoolHauz shows and now they are at Massey? Hope it sounds as good as Oysterhead did there!
  17. Hehehe I love scoping out Hillside! Year 19 for me! (missed 1999 but going since 1991!) Friday: Chali 2na: Jurassic 5ive lowdown voice dude with a band - Roots-ish Dears - Hit and miss with this band - seen some great shows, seen some not-so-great shows.... Lights - not my fave style in the current direction but she is hot as hell - Dragonettey... Guess it depends what is in the beertents! One Hundred Dollars - sounds like Beth Orton or similar spaced out janglerock...could be good, never seen them live. Midway State - this will probably be BIG - they are a hot new band, great songwriters, high energy poprock - and the lead singer looks like the guy form Entourage - chix diggit. Sat Dala - 2 cute ladies - might be too folkie but beautiful singers and real easy on the eyes! Hollerado - fucking awesome. check out their vids online - genius! Karl Denson - Funkin' Dance Party! Mother Mother - great band...seenn them tons though so might just pop by - Sheepdogs - 70's Rawk! Tacoma Hellfarm Tragedy - they've killed it at Hillside before - reminds me of Dr. Dog alot... Shad - great CAD hiphop Sunday Adverteyes - local band from two other cool local bands - psyche rocky Braids - finally some synths! trippy poptastica GangaGiri - here's the dance party - organica? dunno what its called these days...drum machines and didgeridoos Gobble Gobble - Woodhands meets Caribou electronic band - only heard a few tracks but sounds very cool! Sloan - I've made it this far in life without seeing them...time to catch up to my Carlsberg(Sleeman?) years...
  18. It is very cool - if the camera wasn't sideways it wouldn't look nearly as cool!!
  19. ....but it also isn't the guitar string vibrating...it's the rolling shutter on his camera... http://www.musicradar.com/totalguitar/cool-rolling-shutter-guitar-string-video-481168?cpn=RSS&source=MRTOTALGUITAR ...check the slo-mo vid!
  20. That is a big stage to come down - considering the biggest stage i've ever worked on would fit comfortably inside it... - all the anchoring, heavy duty bolts and forethought won't prevent physics or nature having their way with a big sail...
  21. Yeah but those two events were unrelated....
  22. I did a multitrack of this when I was testing out some gear I had built - had some phase issues with the bass mic and snare so the bass comes out a little 'throaty' sounding - the 'bass' is actually a carbon fibre cello that is mic'ed and amped...first time for everything! Kevin's guitar sounds killer - love that beat up little amp...George is track 3 - Hope is a Muscle is the highlight of this show for me... Here's the mp3's of the whole show-sounds good loud! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=W5R2LAN6 Did I mention they play 'Like a Virgin'??
  23. Great vid! There's a reason it was loud....336 speaker cabs powered by 180 amplifiers that are 10,000 watts + each! Lab Gruppen is one of the companies I work for and that tour is a BIG deal... here's some nerdy deets... http://www.u2tourfans.com/u2-daily-tour-news/2010/2/15/u2-intimacy.html
  24. Now that I'm at work and not there I find I keep going back to Frampton when telling people what was hot - he was really ripping it up there - great solos. I'm not even that huge a fan of the album but it was a great set, made better by the talkbox/popcorn man interaction...
