  1. oh yeah waht a fuggin blast this was...I had the pleasure of bringing a few non-phishies along(NW - Adam and Daryl - remember that!) and they were blown away - as was I.... good times. and yeah that Reba opener kicked ass.
  2. I hear ya - I take 1000mg of the non-tenacious 'D' every day - in the winter months it and st.johns wort (and a sun lamp when it's real bad) keep the SAD at bay...
  3. oh I totally remember all of that - her thinking it was a jelly bean holder...fack
  4. http://www.gotye.com/img/heartsamess/Gotye-HeartsAMess.wmv Wicked animation for my fave song right now... ...this Australian one-man wonder really has my attention with his new album Like Drawing Blood - it's frickin awesome...shades of Jamie Lidell, zero7, Fila Brazillia...wicked CD.
  5. I'm not going to micro-manage the list, i'm not sure what all is in there so all I can do is email it to you if you PM me your email...he's only sent me A-B right now, but he said more is to come today...
  6. Friend of mine is loosening up his vinyl collection, asked me to see if anyone locally(Guelph specifically but i'm sure it could get to you whereever you are) wanted some before it hit ebay...it's mostly rock, originals he bought(he's 55) etc etc...I've got A-B in a word document, I see some Jeff Beck, Elvin Bishop, Even a Bobby and the Midnites(I'm looking at you Hux) most is all $2, $3...anyways, PM me with your email and i'll send you the list...
  7. I recorded Kim for a country album I recorded in the late 90's for a Kitchener guy named Trevor Casemore... recorded in my dank basement 'studio' beside me with his amp in another room...He is a stellar player - one listen through the tune and he could nail it... I still have all the raw tracks actually, just listened to a few of them the other week when I was going through archives looking for something...stellar!
  8. pfffft he's been acting like he's in his prime since I met him! hahaha Happy Birthday Ointment Bros.
  9. not mine....co-worker has an extra 1....anyone? PM me and i'll put you in touch.
  10. Red House Painters "Song for a Blue Guitar" is quite possibly the most beautiful and haunting pedal steel playing i've ever heard....gives me goosebumps just thinking about it....
  11. FUCK YOU! REGGAEJUNKIEJEW!! FUCK YOU!! hehehe looks like a great setlist.
  12. yeah but they are trying to do it now without that unsettling ozone smell, sizzling noise and, uh, the GIANT FRICKIN LIGHTNING BOLT! hehehe I hate wireless shit. bane of my existence.
  13. so awesome...I used to have a copy of that on vhs years ago...some of my favourite concerts - I remember going to see the scumdogs tour, getting hosed down with blood etc and saving my (once white) t-shirt for a month or so until my mom made me throw it out as my room stunk...yeah it was gross...america must be destroyed tour was great, I remember the concert hall completely covered in plastic, spinning wheels with dismembered bodies, severing the heads of brian mulroney and the pope...good stuff. ..Really when you think of it, they are kinda like the bizarro Phish - artschool students who formed a band with a cult following...from virginia not vermont....
  14. yeah it was that video that got me going on them -Vocal effects can be a bit overbearing but it's a great tune - real "muscle car engine" drums... I love how high the one cymbal is on the drum kit - bordering on ridiculous. Good shit.
  15. New album (Mirrored) is pretty good - borders on mathrock at times but with Helmet's ex-guitarist it's pretty heavy...
  16. I am hoping that if there is a 'day in court' associated with this that he represents himself and it is videotaped....
  17. sorry, been trying to separate drinking and computers -more- these days...the latter tends to cause the former...the ladder leans too close to the farmer...{hic}...y'know. something like that.
  18. Happy birthday! Your "Salt and Pepper Wisdom" hasn't been seen in these parts in awhile...when's the next MK'ing?
  19. Blane helped me complete one of my most secret inner desires - converting videos from vhs to cd-rom in exchange for bagels mailed to my home from montreal. The cycle completed itself, serpent ate it's tail, Blane watched some vids, I ate some bagels. Life IS beautiful sometimes. (this was gonna just be vibes but then I read page2...Congratulations)
  20. Wow I had to edit my post as I didn't pick up the sly sarcasm there AD...damn 'winkie smilie' or whatever the hell that is isn't as obvious as the old....this shit does sell out way to fast though...and at $75 now for the earlybird, isn't that much of a steal...back in my day(oh shit!)...
  21. yeah my house has that in every interior wall but again the word 'soundproof' doesn't belong anywhere near it. It dampens high frequencies but more importantly helps stop the sympathetic vibrations in the drywall...check out the green glue link and read through some of the articles, especially this one: http://www.greengluecompany.com/soundAbsorption.php I can assure you that roxul has little or no effect on stopping any low frequency sounds...
  22. ...someone beat ya to it... http://www.jinx.com/scripts/details.asp?affid=-1&productID=456
  23. whew...biggee that's for sure. Depends on the extent you want it soundproofed and the amount of dollars you want to put on the line. Now that the age of home theatres and large stereo systems being commonplace is here, construction materials manufacturers are taking notice and offering new products and construction techniques to achieve much higher STC ratings( http://www.sota.ca/stc_info.htm ) Basically any material like blankets/panels/foam etc.. that you put -in- a room do nothing for soundproofing - all they do is absorb a certain spectrum to alter the sound within the room and help control room nodes, slap-back echoes and reverberations. More like sound-conditioning. Bass frequencies tend to couple through building materials and transmit easily through homes because it's not a consideration when houses are built. Here is one of the best resources i've seen, not just because it's a novel product but it explains the reasoning behind the soundproofing and has extensive documentation and construction techniques to suit almost any situation....good luck! http://www.greengluecompany.com/
  24. no way - i've bought them as long ago as 94/95 in Kitchener...used to joke about the fact that the company apparrently made chips and bleach exclusively....and you could buy them at 'Dutch Boy' even....
