  1. Happy Birthday Lisa!! I knew Bruce County couldn't be totally full of beeyotches!
  2. Hey it's my birthday party that night so I'm doing it up all messy like with a troop of folks...and I gotta work all managerial like the next day so it's gonna hurt.
  3. I am throwing serious thought to this. After Muse blew my mind at Virgin fest, I would travel anywhere within driving distance to see them....Hey Sean, can you get to Guelph?
  4. yup - couldn't add anymore than the quote above that SK printed. I was just picking what Vonnegut books to read on vacation...been doing that for years now. sigh.
  5. facking great read. Embarassingly enough i was reminded the other day of my first rave and how i danced with my hands aboave my head -all- friggin nnight long...i can't picture it thank god.s
  6. I love this disc - on the button Dima. Boulevard was good but the disc just kicks ass....also one of the best 'surprise' concerts i've seen - went to TO at the last minute, it was at the Kool Haus, really expected to just kinda trip out to a DJ all night but it was a killer 7 piece band with St. Germain dropping samples and mixing/chopping up stuff life from this big console in the background...fuggin' amazing show...kes me think of seeing Red Snapper, Fila Brazillia, Zero 7, bands like that have all kicked my ass live with real bands ripping out the tunes... I am drunk off my ass on white russians.... Going down tonite LEbowski style...last one I put a schoop of chocalate ice cream in, ohh sweet jesus.....fuckin girl drink drunk tonite. sometimes tuesday just becomes friday...man i gotta write that down...
  7. ahhh christ borders on a tear-jerker...
  8. jordan link is dead, not sure if it's spelling but he is on myspace: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=43070721 'feelin fine is a great track! nice stevie wonder vibe to it...
  9. I (kinda) remember that night. And oh yes was I hurting the next day.
  10. ahhhhh. here I thought I was yelling in my internet voice and no one was listening...
  11. No really! It's Bob Dylan -AND- Dr. Seuss. I'm not kidding!
  12. I'm not the biggest Dylan fan but this one hit me! http://www.dylanhearsawho.com/home.htm Green Eggs and Ham is killer.
  13. Well for Pete's sake Tonin just came in to work and we had to wander around further still to find someone who would take them for free!!! so now they are gone - mission accomplished!
  14. ah yeah that mix is heavy on his stuff...also Jess Franco's Spanish film 'Vampyros Lesbos' is pretty fun and raunchy(and psychedelic) and has a couple germans behind it - Manfred Hubler & Siegfried Schwab. This is probably the best known of the 'Sexadelic' 60's/70's compilations...also known as 'Horrotica' ...hmmm I actually have a whole shelf of european porn and italian police films soundtracks... It really is amazing stuff. Jerry Van Rooyen is another very well known composer, Dutch - a great compilation is 'At 250 Miles an Hour'...actually, the write-up on it at crippleds web site is fantastic and provides some great background on Necronomicon (Succubus around here) - the film that started it all... http://www.crippled.com/?cat=products&subcat=129&id=46
  15. now just a minute - He was one of the first but definitely not the best. For that you have to turn to Gert Wilden - this man is the shit, and did the music for 40-50 movies, including a 13 disc series called 'Schoolgirl Report' - IF Klaus is the Mozart, surely this guy is Beethoven and Jimmy Page's bastard child.... And the label that re-released the best of the Schulmadchen report has a great name even - 'Crippled Dick Hot Wax' Jump on Amazon, have a listen to a couple samples and judge for yourself - it's like sleazier Led Zeppelin with distorto guitars and organs in a campy style...This is one of my fave discs in my entire collection! http://www.amazon.com/Schulmadchen-Report-Schoolgirl/dp/B000003SZL
  16. man it must be hard keeping your online personas straight when your real life ones aren't....
  17. in used computers lotsa times it's the soundcarded not being seated properly in the PCI slot - turn the computer off, pull the card out, go over the gold contacts with a pink pencil eraser, blow it off and reseat it. ...of course if this is an onboard soundcard then this is useless info..might be a loose jumper on mobo?
  18. hmm funny that was mine too. Just showed it to the missus and got a similar response. It's the pic with the orangutan's arm over the tiger that does it.
  19. Happy b'day mr. man! I can't believe I thought you were gentlemonkey's other brother!
  20. ah the snitch disc. Really though, this statement makes any 'sample-based' music unoriginal, which is definitely not the case...The complete DJ Shadow 'Endtroducing' snitch disc is on the net, all 140 songs the samples came from....who cares? It had to come from somewhere right? If not, then why pay attention to anything with a sampled hook or killer intro/loop?
  21. wait a minute - I owned a CV for years - it's definitely not a B3. Same starter and tonewheel assembly but completely different animal when it comes to output. And no percussion which is a huge part of the B3 sound. Yes the full drawbar complement, as well as some chorus and vibrato settings and footpedals....but no way to hook it up to a Leslie cabinet without aftermarket mods. These were configured for Tone Cabinets such as the D20 which are dual 10" drivers firing downwards in a cabinet - no spinning horns or baffle....and really the Leslie is 50% of the Hammond sound... A CV was the predecessor to the C3 - the 'C' denotes Church casing which is the full size cabinet for church installs. Solid maple with walnut veneer...I remember it took 5 people to get mine up 4 steps into my house... Also, the last CV was made before 1950 so these beasts are old - if they weren't oiled 'religiously' (sort of a pun) good luck working on the mechanics...nightmare! And as much as I like Jimmy Smith, for me the real cookin' B3 albums are Lonnie Smith 'Move Your Hand' and Brother Jack McDuff 'Down Home Style' - Both later albums(1969) on Blue Note that are more funky/groovy than jazzy...
  22. doors are at 6 - really i'd wait till 6:30 or 7 to show up as the lineup starts around 1 or 2 in the afternoon - those folks all want used microphones tho' so no worry...
  23. hmm I think there is a 1200 or 2....lotsa other turntables as well...man there's a lotta stuff!! Yeah AD - the used stuff is what people are after, recording/live microphones, mixers/amps/speakers/monitors... crazy new stuff like $5 mic cables, $99 wireless microphones, cheap studio headphones, blah blah blah.
  24. Hey KW/Guelph/Cambridge/Hamilton etc folks... Don't really want to sound like a shill as I do work there - believe me I don't make any more money if lots gets sold or none...just less mess to clean up the next day! Anyways, it's Wednesday 6pm-12midnight, only time of year both stores sell their rental stock, and there is tons of it. It's a bit of a zoo but worth it if 'best price' is your objective... geetars, drums, keys, software, everything instrument related as well as P.A., mixers, monitors, used mic's, wireless etc etc. Come say hi! Bring me a coffee! hehehe actually bring me a couple shots of whiskey... yeah. it's gonna be crazy. Location: 124 Ottawa St. South Kitchener
