  1. ahh fack that's too bad. RIP George.
  2. pfft - easy! make the appointment, tell the guy that shows up his company is fucked because you don't even have internet and yer done!
  3. you guys would have to see this building to believe it - it is friggin tiny, right on the edge of the sidewalk...no sign remains of the shoe-shop that was once there...I say tear it down, and i'm all for saving -real- heritage sites...There's lots of other neat stuff in the ward - old corner grocers, butcher shops, even horse stables from mid 1800's (most of the houses are 1800's to early 1900's, not much building here since 1940) and this guy wants to take out one unremarkable, unusable structure. It's a block away from me - I walk past it twice a day, I used to wonder why it existed...no real legacy there...
  4. wow - do not go through TelAV if you are paying their prices! We've partnered up before with Wall Sound and Lighting before, they have lots of stuff from small to big. If you need more assistance PM me and I can talk back and forth with them... http://www.wallsound-lighting.com/ With any AV company, labour/trucking will always cost more than the equipment itself for smaller rentals...should be pretty easy to hook up though! Any normal projector over 1500 lumens is fine if you are showing it after dusk....i'd suggest 2500 lumens, and 'Christie' brand if it's an option...normal Home theatre/office projectors are fine and will have computer/dvd player inputs if you can get a freebie. For sound systems, any PA speakers would do(don't you have some in your basement?) because it's just stereo sound - how big is the lot? how many people? If you want easy there are powered speakers from Yorkville/JBL/Mackie that you could use, you would just need some power cables and go straight out of the DVD player into the speakers...turn it up and go! Since you are using a cinderblock wall there are no worries, but one rule to live by - a screen outside is a sail.
  5. Happy b-day Mrs. voodoodinghy! you are high-larious.
  6. i'm sure i've seen a similar porn blooper that wasn't dogs...but yeah - similar to what the SK said - really funny, kinda funny, less funny, not funny, really funny again when you show a coworker...
  7. yikes another chinese democracy? and fluff....less of a dare, more of a memory... although everyone should try it really.
  8. i've seen czech a couple times and had good fun but I gotta say - that first mix is brutal...johnny cash and ray charles over beats...it's just sounds so facking 'Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers' - I guess this is what mash-ups are devolving into as the software allows anyone the ability to beatmatch without thought...
  9. hmmm 10 years too late... I don't think 'loveless' could be achieved live...definitely not in a converted hockey rink. That requires a headful of acid and a living room floor...
  10. ...i've got a pair for Pete and Tasha if they still need them...
  11. Happy birthday you suave bastard!
  12. GO TO THIS SHOW!! Bocce is good fun(some solid party songs) but Woodhands is outta control - the myspace doesn't do the live act justice...tight duo, very intense but fun music...I am hooked. Anyone misses this they are in Guelph May 8th...
  13. nice - that looks like a very nice sneak peak...
  14. they kicked ass at Hillside inside...
  15. jump on www.stillepost.ca and go to the Grey/Bruce county forum...Ulrike(Josh R.) is the moderator there and a good friend of mine living in Owen Sound - he knows lots of the musical folks up there and is very involved...
  16. hey wait a minute it's my happy day, not Pete's! Damn you weirdness!
  17. nice - just found out our company is doing sound for the kitchener show...
  18. nice - I saw them a loooong time ago - 94 I think - we snuck in the back door(war memorial in Guelph) and got all their autographs... hilarious show - they were pretty well propless... nice.
  19. RIP - I've always loved his 3 laws, especially #3... 1. "When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong." 2. "The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible." 3. "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."
  20. uh i was on the internet everytime I was down there....on a current PC...
  21. nice...one of the last autographs I got was his last show in TO....man that was a long time ago... ...oh yeah and good one on the Young Ones tie-in Ollie!
  22. I always liked 'here come the warm jets' but 'Ambient One' is the goods here too. And there are lots of collaborations that come off better than his solo work...My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts with David Byrne is amazing, His two albums with Robert Fripp are excellent(Evening Star is a gorgeous song rife with waves of loops and delays) and for flair there is still Roxy Music and 801:live....
