Once, when I was away for a few weeks, someone broke into my house, ate a bunch of pizza pops, left the dishes in the sink and rang up a $1500 phone bill to a porn line somewhere in New Zealand.
And I had to pay it.
That really sucked.
Hope you get your stuff back and you don't have to endure anymore sketchy thievery.

Last time I saw Dickey was in '03. He basically did all his Allman's songs. It was great fun.

Hey Basher - your title says April 11 and I believe the seats are March 11 - may make a difference...
Yeah, Basher. Stupid. ::

what about stoned phillips? you should at least bring her if you can't get her to buy you beers.
It's nice to know that my presence is requested even when I'm not buying the beers...
(I think?)

best part is when WSP comes on jambands radio you can hit the skip button. gotta love hitech radio.
Isn't the skip feature awesome? I found myself using it only once yesterday...some seemingly interminable Umphrey's song(I even gave it a chance, but I think my ears were bleeding, so I had to move on).
-
I think it can read my mind...
It's playing one of my favourites--the Ominous Seapods--"Bong Hits and Porn". I had to shut my office door and turn it up!
-
I heard some Scofield earlier, too (it was sweet, actually).
I just heard a Zero song and now its playing The New Deal.
I think you're right--different randomization for each listener.
-
You're clearly getting different stuff than I am...
They're playing Moth from No Doy on my VH1 Jamband radio!
This is so much fun!
-
I'm so psyched..Foxtrot Zulu's on now..haven't heard them in ages!!
-
I switched over to VH1's "Jambands" station...lo and behold, I hear a familiar sound...sure enough, they're playing some BNB!
Nice!
-
So I decided to check out one of the VH1 radio stations today...and I'm actually enjoying it!
The station is Axis and since I've been listening, I've heard the following artists:
Sonic Youth
Joni Mitchell
Jack Johnson
Badly Drawn Boy
Led Zeppelin
Squeeze
Crosby Stills & Nash
George Harrison

I can't wait to find out what's next...

That's odd..I just clicked on the link and had no trouble accessing the site..

Karen, that's correct. They talk about it on their website.
They play in the scene where she's about to marry a head (not Richard Gere)...I guess she "runs away" from that one!
-
I figure it must be a Scottish thing - like that gutteral "ch" you hear in German (ach!) - that just dropped out over time and geographic distance.
Interesting...linguistics are fascinating!
-
My stupid question of the day (sadly, something I've been wondering about since I was a mere lass):
Why is it CO-Burn and not COCK-burn? Was I absent in English class when they covered the rarely utilized silen "CK" sound?
-
I just had an image of Mickey Hart showing up a campfire univited, with some African drums.
bahahahahahahhaha!
If he showed up at my campfire, he'd wonder why I kept calling him Carl.
-
As mentioned in the other "cover" thread, I'm with Jaimoe on the Diana Krall. Nobody wake her up.
In general, I gotta go with "All Along the Watchtower" for least favourite cover tune by Campfire Carls* (not all campfire guitarists are bad, but you know the kind I'm talking about...)
*The "Campfire Carl" category is so named based on a guy who showed up under our canopy at the Vibes in '03 and proceeded to continue playing and singing despite the fact that he:
a) wasn't any good
and
we were actively trying to dissuade him from playing.
This was about the time Flute Girl showed up and it became surreal and somewhat frightening.
For future reference, here are some of the things that did not work in making Carl stop playing:
Dualing drums in complete opposition to Carl's guitar (at the end of the song he gave them some advice, "That was good--but not so loud next time!")
5 of us singing along to (a drastically speeded-up) AC/DC Bag all impersonating Sammy David Jr. (AC/DC Bag, baby, I say, AC/DC Bag...)
"Dude, I hate to burst your bubble, but, could you, like, STOP??"

You still havent answered the question...
I'll illustrate next time I see you...

How much ASS is major ASS? Is that like one BIG ASS? or Alot of small and medium size ASSES?
Or are u refering to Major Ass as an army dude that gets his ASS kicked?
How about smartass? Are you familiar with that, Mr. Funny Guy?

A well-placed "I got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell" kills in ANY social situation....
-
I thought "The Bunny" during the whole Coventry debacle had killed my love for "more cowbell". But, several months later, I find I still adore it.

Oh! Cool. Thanks Stoned. I'm gonna check those guys out; mostly out of nostalgia. As I said, they were very cool guys and I have occasionally wondered where they went over the last decade and a half since they visited.
They play regularly in the northeast U.S. (mostly Jersey in the winter months)...as you can see from their website.. ::

Members of Solar Circus and Splintered Sunlight formed the Juggling Suns who are still around and kick MAJOR ass!

How about the comparison between covers and rewrites/re-arrangments? Blues great John Hammond Jr. built his career on re-writing old blues standards. Ricky Scaggs and Alison Krauss have done the same with bluegrass. Of course, there's always Diana Krall...
What do you expect from Diana Krall? Have you ever looked at her eyes? She's dead inside. Every time I see her, I hear Apu increasingly freaking out about becoming an American, "Who needs the infinite wisdom and compassion of Ganesha when I have Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman staring at me from the cover of Entertainment Weekly with their DEAD, DEAD EYES?!!"

I used to have this message on my answering machine:
"You have successfully located the A-Team. To leave a message for Hanibal, Face-Man, B.A., Murdoch or Julia, please do so at the sound of the tone."
