keither Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 I just noticed that the Steve Kimock Band are playing the Opera House in Toronto on June 18, 2004. YOU BASTARDS!!! Now that Stevie has moved to NY... I'm sure you'll get to see him on fairly regular occasions. I AM SO JEALOUS! SKB are, IMHO, the most amazing jamband anyone could see live. HE IS GOING TO SHRED WHOEVER SHOWS UP!!! I will be keeping a CLOSE eye for reviews on this show... and I hope you all get absolutely KILLED (in the best possible way) and report back on the unbelievable RIPPING! SO JEALOUS!

c-towns Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 [color:"purple"]You two need to get a room, with one way mirrors all around it... haha ::
Ms.Huxtable Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 I'm excited about this show. I've only seen the Steve Kimock Band once, but it was sweet ... very sweet! SKB in Toronto on a Friday night in June ... the thought of it makes me smile!!! :) Peace, Mark Mark, did you see him at AMMF last year? I am trying to remember which slot he had and what you were up to at the time. That's the only time I've been lucky enough to catch him. And Keither, you are absolutely right man, he blew me away.
meggo Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 well damn, if YOU guys are all going then i think i don't really have a choice! it's been too long. i agree the opera house is a sweet venue, only been there once and it was 2 years ago (remember when you guys had that weekend-long party on lisgar, blair? i do believe that was the birth of the original ROBOXY!!! one of the funniest episodes of my life! and instagator with the policeman helmet at MMW... priceless) summer rocks ::
MamaPink Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 [color:"purple"]You two need to get a room, with one way mirrors all around it... haha :: yeah, that's the plan for Philly actually. we may have room in our car (ahem - jono or craig)
secondtube Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 i'll be there w/out a doubt. kimock, haque, and barr are the best guitarists in the scene.
shainhouse Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 I'll join the club. see you there. (even though I HATE The Opera House)
secondtube Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 the Opera House? is that where phix played? i'm pretty sure it is. They are amazing! If you get busted smoking a pipe, they give you a ticket, and you retrieve your pipe at the end of the show!!! (thats amazing) They have nice sight lines, a nice balcony, decent to good sound, and a great raised stage with nice crown moulding around it. It could be one of my favorite 'dingyier' venue's in Toronto. I never complain about the Opera House! What dont u like about it? Steve
tatterdemalion Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 if anybody is willing to help out with some promo-type stuff for this show, please shoot me an email - tatterdemalion99@yahoo.com what are some good watering holes for pre-gaming ? i'm so out of touch with taranta, it's embarassing. is the brass rail nearby ?
NewRider Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 Just across the street there is a lovely bar called "Jilly's" I like to drink there before shows! I also really like the Operahouse, I've never had that many problems there like I've had with the Phoenix, Guvernment, Warehouse ect.. Still this show would have been WAY fuckin' better at Palais Royale!!!
