Formed in 2002 beneath the dramatic landscape of Vancouver BC, Themasses have developed a large, loyal following due to their unique, original style and solid musicianship. They have headlined over 80 shows including three appearances at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival and three intensive tours of Western Canada. Most recently, Themasses were featured at the inaugaral Bonfire Festival on the Sunshine Coast BC, where legendary guitarist Fareed Haque sat-in with the band for almost the entire set. Come see why people are calling Themasses "...one of the best live acts anywhere!" Also, be sure to pick-up their kick-ass new studio CD, produced by hot-shot producer Ben Kaplan (BNB, Blue Quarter, Freeflow + lots more) which features eight original tracks with some incredible guest musicians, including outstanding vocals from Sherry St. Germain and Chapman stick player extrordinaire, Olivier. They have the best band name in Canada.

They also have the best combined name with another band used to advertise a seamless sets show (they apparently did one with Slammin' Jack) - Them Slammin' Jackasses...

Much better than the combined name GTB and JSB had on their seamless set tour posters - JIZZBAGITTUBBA...

I beleive we've done at least 3 setblenders with Them Slammin' Jackasses. The last one was this past New Years on Granville Island in Vancouver. We alternated 4 sets and actually blended a couple times by learning one of the other band's songs. For example Themasses started a Slammin' song ("eat more pie"), Slammin' got on stage and blended with us, and then we slowly left the stage and Jack finished their own song).
