I haven't seen Bob Dylan or the Dead, but this summer I'll see them both at Darien so I am super stoked about that. And I haven't seen moe. but I'll be seeing them in August. After I've seen those three acts, there's not much else that I'm just dying to see.

I'd like to see The Masses cause I got so much love for the Weezy. [big Grin] Maybe String Cheese as well.

Oh and C-Towns, I caught my first Ween show last Saturday night at the AMMF. You are absolutely right about it being sloppy. I was amazed at how the audience changed when they came on. More about that in an upcoming review. [Razz]

Good question.

Good answers so far...

You can add the following to my list after reading some of the responses:

- Tom Petty

- David Bowie

- Les Claypool (preferably Primus)

jaimoe: TOOL have a wild show live (I've seen them three times), and good call on the BGH, they are definitely a spectacle live.

ollie: I would count The Other Ones as an incarnation of the Dead. Please don't consider me a heathen.

No, not at all. They are the same band, IMO. I was just curious to know if the name change had any affect on how others perceived the band. That is to say, do you think the band touring this summer is any different than the band that toured last fall as The Other Ones. (Not including subbing Joan Osbourne for Susan Tedeschi.)

I think the name change is a cynical money grab and wish Phil was still touring with his Friends. Not that I won't have a hell of a time at the shows anyway.

Sorry to hijack your thread. [Roll Eyes]

I can't really think of ANYTHING either. There are alot of musicians I would love to put on the list but I've either seen them at least once, or they're dead (Lennon waaah!)

To at least pick one. I'd really like to see Prince in his current form AND a Prince afterparty.

Jaimoe, if you come to Ottawa, we can help get you one step closer to death by re-reuniting Bluegrassy High.

For highjacking my thread you must now fight me with knives -OR- you can explain your avatar. Shadowhawk? Some Mexican wrestler?

I also want to see Violent Femmes live.

That's me wearing a Mr. Aguila mask at a Renegades game last year. Got a picture of Rob (Not Bob) wearing one too.

And I finally thought of an answer to your question:

David Nelson Band

Well I managed to see the Grateful Dead(with Jerry) a handful of times, and caught James Brown twice even, Neil, Trey, Bowie, Ween Floyd, Santana, Jeff Beckyup yup yup yup....

I think the ones I really wanted to see would require a time warp...

Zappa(68-79)

The Who(69-77)

Talking Heads (i've seen David Byrne a couple times but I want late 70's)

Grateful Dead(well since i'm wishing...68-79)

shit like that....

hmm faves I have seen though:

Orbital(3 times)

DJ Food(twice)

Richie Hawtin(8 times)

Primus(7 times)

Tortoise(3 times)

SoundGarden(6 times)

Stereolab(3 times)

Sugar

St. Germain

George Clinton & P-Funk Allstars

And my all time fave: Red Snapper

God i have spent so much money on shows...

TG: How's St. Germain live? That would be an interesting show for sure.

ollie: Where the hell did you get a Mr. Aguila mask??!

Add Boards of Canada to my list. I can't believe I forgot. And Gotan Project.

St. Germain live was absolutely amazing-not what I expected at all... And one of those elusive 'actually sounded good at the Krap Hauz' shows.

St. Germain(the guy) had some gear and was up in the back corner of the stage, while a 7 piece, mostly jamaican band with drums, 2xguitars, bass, percussion and horns played wicked shit while he dropped samples and some beats. Blew my mind.

NYAHAHAHA another Radiohead virgin. I can't wait for the Montreal show now...

Booche, Sally, LJFH, and now VD, you're in for some tough Radiohead love.

White Stripes would be good, but it would have to be some dirty Brooklyn club or something, and not an arena show.
