A dozen gleaming brown trout Champions of the weigh-in When I drop the down-riggers It’s obvious I’m not playin’ A dozen gleaming brown trout Yanked from the chilly bin Nothing like 12 beauties To make me cast a grin A dozen gleaming brown trout What a glorious day Just got a call from buddy There’s twelve more on the way A dozen gleaming brown trout By three in the afternoon If I keep up this fierce pace By six I’m sure to croon A dozen gleaming brown trout Now that’s the life for me There’s a knocking at my door Just who could that be?
