wow...what a whole lot of kind words from you ottawa folks! thanks to everyone that made it out, it was nice to meet more board folk in real life, notably steve the owl and freak by night.

and of course brad and pat, you guys were awesome, as were the staff at mavericks. it's so much fun to have sound guys cater to us. that never happens in real life.

thank you dr evil and calamity jane for hosting the mice at your place in mousegoode, and thank you to all the folks at that place for inviting all of us in to your home. finally met hux in real life, he was kind enough to pour me glasses of red wine that i could then clumsily spill on my friends (sorry deb :( )

come together - 3 weeks and counting!!!

woo hoo!!

Hey Dr. Evil and CJ ... what a wonderful home you have! Thanks for hosting this past weekend.

I had a blast at Mavericks. Inglewood Jack got me dancing, and things felt really comfortable on stage with Harvard Mouse. Thanks for the feedback bradm ... I think we're a better band than we were the last time we played in Ottawa, and your comments support that view.

It was a treat running into friends both at Mavericks and after. I just wish I had more of a voice all weekend - it was very frustrating trying to communicate with people while barely being able to talk!

I look forward to the next time ...

Peace, Mark

I think we also need to thank that guy in the audience who screamed out (for) "Wilson!!" near the start of "Local Petting Zoo".

I'm trying to remember if that was me -- I'll have to wait until the show is uploaded, and see if I can recognize the voice! ;)

Cathy the Owlette and I had a great time; it was cool to finally catch the legendary Harvard Mouse -- and it's always fun to see and hear Inglewood Jack (any plans for a Canada Day show? Lemme know!).

And it's alway wonderful to see friends and hear live music. Keep up the good work, and keep being cool.

glad you enjoyed yourself mattm...

I must admit I was starting to get just a little worried....I remembered I didn't see you at the VERY end of the night before taking off, and then not to see you post for a few days.....I started to wonder what else might have fallen into the mixing bowl in my kitchen!!!!

I heard Bradm's mix last night: man, the boys played such a great show!!! George's family having a grand ole hootenany in the background just adds to the wonder of it all.

I think it should make it up onto the archive soon, for those who missed it (or for those who simply blacked out for any part of it!)

Very fine job mice...felt that I might have been holding you back at few points in the set...spending time with my new gear instead of paying attendion to the mix...Pile on the kudos for Bradm as well...such a great service to be giving people opportunities to play music and then give them a pristine copy of their efforts...So THANKS BRADM!!!!!!

BTW I do believe it was my B-in-Law Todd who yelled out 'Wilson!' He has a raft at his property in New York that was christened with the moniker after its fatefull first float...Like the movie castaway 'Wilson' was discovered halfway back to Canada when he woke up...some great stories to be told from the adventures south of the border... ;)

I also want to note, again, how good a venue Mavericks is, and how good their people are. At one point during HM's set, a guy ended up standing right in front of my mic stand. This wasn't a big deal, but he looked like he was there alone, and not friends of any band members, or friends of friends of band members. He was also swaying back and forth a bit... At one point during some hockey banter, one of the Mouses threw a cap into the audience, and this guy decided he'd take his cap off and throw it onto the stage. This wasn't a big deal, except that he had obviously disposed of his balance long before this, and he came reeling back towards the mic stand, bumping into it, and then having trouble achieving veriticality. The bartender then swooped out from behind the bar (even beating me to him, as I had come around to politely ask him to make sure he didn't bump into the stand again), and forcibly escorted the guy out. (My guess is that the bartender had marked this guy as "borderline" when he arrived, and this was the last straw.)

You're correct in your assumption about the Mavericks bartender having him in his sights when he arrived. I talked with the bartender after the show and he told me it's happened before with the same guy. I agree with everybody's comments about Mavericks staff - we were treated very well all night!

And bradm, HUGE thanks for recording the HM set, and for making it available so quickly!

Peace, Mark
