Here's hoping for this run of shows to have some additions at the end, including a Toronto stop.

One Louder

Updated 02:42 PDT Mon, Jul 24 2006

John Scofield has teamed with Medeski Martin & Wood for a full-length collaborative album, and the quartet will hit the road later this year in support of the disc.

Medeski, Scofield, Martin & Wood's first headlining tour will start with a week of East Coast dates November 10-16, followed by seven Midwestern gigs in December.

The four musicians first worked together on Scofield's 1998 album A Go Go, touring briefly as Scofield, Medeski & Wood that same year.

The new disc, Out Louder, is a true collaboration.

"A Go Go was John's record and we were essentially sidemen, where Out Louder musically comes from all of us," Chris Wood said.

Out Louder is due for release September 26 on Medeski Martin & Wood's new label, Indirecto Records.

I wonder how they came up with that name. I mean, I would have thought Scofield would appear first or last; given that they've been MMW for as long as anyone can remember.

I just find it odd that Scofield managed to sneak in there between Medeski and Martin.

(Apparently, I have too much time on my hands.)
