jaybone
Nice recommendation on the Winter brews Esau!I took a break from my mid-week hiatus and enjoyed the St Pete's Winter Ale while watching a silly movie (Hot Tub Time Machine). I also smoked a little something, which I almost never do!Tasty beer.

What would circa 2000 Jaybone say to you right now?
Davey Boy 2.0
He probably would'a said something like this"Damn you Brad for booking this great week of shows during one of my busiest weeks of school!! If I had any sense of responsiblity I would be at home studying and writing essays instead of partying and getting down at these shows. But being as I am me (irresponsible as hell)...I'll be at most of the shows."http://www.jambands.ca/sanctuary/showtopic.php?tid/99254

ollie
Interesting. I always forget how close I live to the Heritage brewery. They are lousy with the marketing. Hope this improves the local beer scene. As much as I like Beau's I think there should be more than one big kid on the block.

Jakis
Oh yeah, Pick this up at your local LCBO if you can. It's the brooklyn stout and it is great. I am not usually a fan of stout's but this is really good and perfect for a snowy night.

bradm
Has anyone tried the "Ola Dubh"? It's a beer from Scotland, and spends time in casks that had been used to hold Highland Park whisky. There's one that uses the 16-year-old-HP casks (i.e., they kept Highland Park whisky in them for 16 years, bottled the whisky, then stashed the beer in them for a while), one that uses that 30-y-o casks, and one that uses 40-year-old casks.Aloha,Brad

ollie
Nørrebro Bryghus Bombay Pale Ale, $7.50 for 600 mL bottle, 6.5% ABV @ the LCBO "Nørrebro Bryghus opened in September 2003 and was founded by ex-Carlsberg brewmaster Anders Kissmeyer." Very pricey but you get a high quality pale ale. I won't buy it regularly at this price but you won't be disappointed with the taste if you're a fan of true pale ales. Very pricey but you get a high quality pale ale. I won't buy it regularly at this price but you won't be disappointed with the taste if you're a fan of true pale ales. As a fan of pale ales, I was a bit disappointed. I guess I have gotten used to the US style hoppiness (like Siera Nevada). I won't be shelling out for them again. PassedOutGuy
Im with ya Jay... love that hoppiness of American IPA's. You could do a killer trip ala Velvetlogs simply touring around on an American IPA adventure... its a fun dream. That said, I have been enjoying the Mill St. tankhouse ale as of late. jaybone
Rossolee brought a half keg of to the Superbowl party. I had tasted it in bottle and thought it was pretty good, but on tap, it was delicious. Rossolee mentioned that he had heard that Great Lakes upped the hops on this brew lately and it shows. Super tasty and it was finished shortly before half time.
