The skinny.Kae Sun w/WTTS and Shad KWED, Jan 17Third Floor Reilly's (340 Yonge St, Across from Sam's)7:30PM, 19+, $7Kae Sun/WTTS is on at 8:30PM sharp and Shad K is on at 10PM. It will be over by 11:30PM, as it is a weekday. Plus, Shad K is fantastic and worth seeing alone. Another hip-hop w/live band artist, who has been lauded by CBC. Seriously Kae and I did an amazing email interview and the guy is the real deal. Hyper fucking intelligent, hyper conscious- very big heart. I gather the whole thing is becoming much more collaborative with the WTTS camp too. Like he's spitting over some of their previous stuff and it's less of a backing band more of a collaboration. This would strike me as one of the few times that a live band/MC really works outside the Roots, maybe a handful of others and much better than Embassy which is the Canadian equivalent.
