I don't know that the Devo version has achieved equal or greater popularity to the original, but I'll leaving the policing up to MarcO ;) .

i see your point, but i'd suggest that there are a lot of people who thought that was a Devo song when it first came out. it was HUGE and arguably their biggest hit. and one could make your same point about the BNL cover of Lovers. I mean, who doesn't know thats a Cockburn tune? ;)
