Booche
If the idea is to move Wallace to 1B then you have to look at what, if anything, they get back for Overbay and incorporate that into the trade as well. No.
MoMack
why not?
Jaimoe
Overbay is in his last year of his contract.
Booche
why not? Because Overbay was not a player included in the trade. By your logic, you might as well say that the hiring of Riccardi is also incorporated into that trade.
MoMack
But by your logic don't you then have to evaluate the Halliday trade as being for Drabek, D'Arnaud and Taylor w/out considering Wallace? Or better yet, by your logic Lee has nothing to do with the Halliday trade then. I think you'd agree that that just isn't true. Overbay being in his last year is completely irrelevant. But the fact that the first trade may fill a position and allow for Overbay to be traded is certaily relevant.

Northern Wish
ROY HALLADY- WHAT A CLASS ACT. The image won't work, but here it is: http://twitpic.com/unk6p Even if you were a third string catcher, which you most certainly are not, this would have been beyond admirable. The fact that you are a Top Shelf Player- only makes this all the more meaningful..... Edited December 22, 2009 by Guest

Jaimoe
Beeston said that the club would honour Halladay in some way when the Phills play the Jays in T.O. in June. It'll be too early, but I would shed a tear if they added Halladay's name to the Level of Excellence.
Booche
Outstanding. Total class is right.
Schwa.
Outstanding. Total class is right.fuck that. they shouldn't give a rats ass about Halladay, they should be working out trades for the future because they're running a professional sports team here. to make their team better. That's it.((winkywinkywinkwink))
