YearsAlongTheSea
So, I know you can't buy ringtones from the iTunes Canadian Store. But, can you really not make a ringtone either from your music library? Seems crazy to me...Any help is appreciated...
bouche
I made a ringtone using garageband. If you have a mac and garageband, you can just make your clip and export it as a ringtone.

YearsAlongTheSea
Damnit. I updated the software on my iPhone and now it says the SIM card is not valid. It was working before the update but I guess Apple isn't happy about the fact that I just popped the SIM card from my other phone in.Sucks. Guess I'll have to bring it in and get it hooked up to a new plan...edit to add: really sucks after having spent all this time customizing the fuck'er too. Thanks for tip bouche, the garageband loop I threw in there made a great ringtone... Edited June 14, 2009 by Guest
bouche
From time to time, I get a "No sim card" error. Rebooting the iPhone, or even doing a restore will bring it back. Now, i don't know about the deal with you popping a sim card from one phone to another, but if it's an active account, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Jay Funk Dawg
where can you put in your sim card? that 's news to me.
YearsAlongTheSea
Turned out the phone, formerly my dad's, was originally purchased in the U.S. so updating the software was a heads-up to mac. I've since lifted the country code on it and it's back in action... Jaydawg: if you take a little paper clip and stick it in the little hole at the top of your iPhone, out pops the SIM card... bokonon
If your iphone is "locked" (meaning it only knows how to read sim cards from the carrier that originally sold the phone) it will not read your Rogers SIM. For example, it you have a Nextel iphone it might not read a Rogers SIM.

That should allow you to use any sim card in it whatsoever. TRy this site http://www.quickpwn.com/ - it should help you out.
Jay Funk Dawg
is the new iphone 3.0 available yet? I want to do upgrade to that before i jailbreak it!
fluffhead77
The new firmware is availble now, but I'd wait a while as it usually takes the dev team a couple weeks to break it.

bouche
I believe there is a jailbreak for 3.0i've been running 3.0 for the last couple of months and now that it's been tweaked, it's really so much better. I am waiting to hear reviews of the new hardware, but I doubt I'll upgrade this time around. There are so many features that they they are holding onto until the next iPhone.
