Kanada Kev
word is they are playing a center and 4 d at a time. Martin's trying something. [color:purple]WHOA! Now THAT should provide for some edge-of-the-seat exciting hockey for sure!!! Damn I wish I was paying good money to see that.
MrBigTime
And they are debating taking the centre off and playing 2 goalies...Shots will be 40-20 tonight against the Habs...
Booche
If they are going to do anything with their 2 goalies, they should trade both for Tuukka Rask.
Kanada Kev
And they are debating taking the centre off and playing 2 goalies...Shots will be 40-20 tonight against the Habs... LOL ... or they could get all 6 players to stand in front of the net and simply absorb all the shots Reminds me of when on of the MLB teams hired a midget pinch-hitter ... they couldn't pitch to his tiny strike zone, get a walk, then pinch runner. They modified the rules after that .
Davey Boy 2.0
...hired a midget pinch-hitter ... sounds like the time Mr.BigTime went to see the midget lesbian strippers at KamaSutra...
MrBigTime
I can't wait to see what the dark and shady alleys in Costa Rica will have... midget oil wrestling would be spectacular! Back to hockey though: O'Byrne up front?? Darche on the #1?? WTF happened to this team??
Booche
TSN just said Darche is the 770th player in the team's history to wear the CH.I thought they were talking about this season.

Guest Low Roller
A week after his picture posted alongside Booche on this message board, George Laraque has been released by the Habs.
MrBigTime
Bye Bye BGL... you won't be missed at all you overly friendly giant...So why "released" rather than "put on waivers"? Is this due to him having a no movement clause (which I think he has for some stupid fucking reason)?
Booche
BGL had a no-movement clause?Holyfuuuuuuuuuuck..............but to answer your question. Yes. They wouldnt have been able to put him on waivers.
Guest Low Roller
Not sure. I hear that he's getting paid for the rest of the season to sit at home, and then they are buying out the third year of his $4.5M contract. If I understand this right, it will be 2/3 of the $1.5M remaining on his contract, spread over the double of what's left of his contract, so $1M over two years. So a hit of $500K in 2010-2011 and $500K in 2011-2012. Pfff...
Guest Low Roller
The idiot probably sealed his own fate when he said in an interview earlier this week that he didn't like to fight, then watched from the bench as Gorges and Pouliot distributed the justice. MrBigTime
Georges Laraque, MTL - NTC [full NMC for 2008-09; after July 1, 2009 Laraque names six (6) teams in both the Eastern Conference and Western Conference that he will accept a trade to]No need to make a list I guess...
Booche
It's entirely possible he provided a list at some point after July 1st 2009 and that Gainey put out feelers to those GM's.I'ld like to believe that happened.
Guest Low Roller
It's not impossible that once teams start gearing up for a playoff run that they will want to pick up a bruiser and Laraque may be willing to drop his NTC for a playoff run. Let's not despair yet.
Booche
It doesnt matter Andrew. Are you new to this sport? If he is bought out then the Habs are still on the hook for whatever monies they have to pay him PLUS the salary cap is affected (to the tune of 1 million dollars next season by the looks of things). Guest Low Roller
But he's not bought out yet you dolt. Don't you listen fully when things are being said? Your mind works like a "declassifed" document from the CIA:

Guest Low Roller
Gainey pretty much threw Laraque under the bus during his press conference by calling him "unproductive and a distraction".Unfortunately the whole Haiti disaster is being mixed into this. Laraque said that the organization was "classless" for releasing him while he was still grieving for Haiti. Word has it that Gainey offered him a leave of absence yesterday, but Laraque refused. The decision to release Laraque was made last week.
Guest Low Roller
Gainey: "I don't have a copy of BGL's code, don't know what it is, should be to support teammates. It's not his code, it's OUR code".Laraque was lined up for interviews all over town, but he's been hit with a gag order by the Habs who he is technically still under contract with.
