Blane
Going to a small festival this weekend featuring a bunch of bands I haven't heard too much about. Aside from the obvious ones (Fleet Foxes, Neko Case, Explosions, Dirty Projectors, etc.) any other bands that I should catch? skelter
I think I've only heard of three other bands on that list other than ones you mentioned - The Acorn, Ohbijou, and Steve Earle. Go see Steve Earle.
Northern Wish
WEW is pretty great, I like Jason Molinas Magnolia Electric Co. quite a bit, and I'll throw in The Dodos for Jakis. The Low Anthem are tops to some and terrible to others. If you like down tempo songs in the folk vein you will dig it, if not stay away...My top recommend would be: Okerville River are incredible, do NOT miss them! Blane
http://www.endoftheroadfestival.com/Really small fest limited to 5,000 people in Dorset, UK. Very chilled out and community/eco oriented. Should be fun!Hold Steady are also playing but don't seem to be on that list, and Jarvis Cocker is doing a DJ set. Don't know what that'll be like. Blane
actually, it looks like that list I posted is missing a lot of bands. Blitzen Trapper's listed as well, and I think some folks on here were giving them really positive reviews. Thanks for your suggestions though! DBOC
The Duke and the King would be great.Funny, just grabbed this album off of emusic an hour ago. This is a side project of Simone felice of the Felice brothers. sounds great so far. Daytrotter.com just today also posted their session.

Weirdness
Howlin' Rain hasn't been mentioned yet, they are definitely worth checking out. Magnolia Electric Co., Okkervil River also for sure. The Acorn and Whispertown 2000 possibly as well if you like the more folkie stuff. Super solid lineup for sure.
