April 28 ~ Evolve Festival is thrilled to announce the first wave of Canadian and international headliners for its 2010 lineup -- quite possibly its best ever and one that definitely measures up to Evolve's recent distinction as the #1 Music Festival in Canada by CBC Radio 3 Searchlight!

Touching down on the full moon weekend of July 23-25 in a spectacular setting in the rolling oceanside hills of Antigonish, Nova Scotia; Evolve 2010's incredible lineup of performers features:

As always, Evolve is a showcase for established and up-and-coming Canadian artists, especially Maritimers. The rest of the Atlantic and Canadian contigent at this year's festival includes: David Myles, Slowcoaster, Jenn Grant, Rich Aucoin, Isaac & Blewett w/ Joel Leblanc, Carmen Townsend & The Shakey Deals, Donnie Dunphy, Maylee Todd, Andrew White, Three Sheet and more.

CBC Radio 3 will travel to Evolve for the entire festival July 23-25; for a special live on-site broadcast and to present the winning trophy and plaque declaring Evolve the #1 Music Festival in Canada. The Festival's reputation as one of the highlights of the North American musical calendar continues to spread far and wide; it was also honoured as one of the 15 Best Outdoor Music Festivals in North America in 2009 by Santa Fe-based Outside Magazine.

By this artist list (posted below) - I would say that Evolve became the number 1 Festival in Canada because they always are music trend pioneers rather than music trend followers. Truth is it's also a tight knit community in the Atlantic Provinces and all that collectivity voted the festival in by a landslide!

I'm impressed by the line and I think it could likely be Evolve's biggest year yet!

While there's a few acts in there that are quality, the line up this is just sad for being Canada's #1 festival. Is this really as good as we can get for Canada?

I've never been, but I'm pretty sure Bluesfest in Ottawa is a WAAY better festival than this. For evelove to even be considered the number one in my books they'd have to add at least twice as many acts and up the caliber of artists by about 73.52% or thereabouts.
