64. Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room! Dr. Strangelove, 1964

GREAT movie! Damn, that Peter Sellers was one talented fella.

98. Nobody puts Baby in a corner. Dirty Dancing, 1987

All the chicks on here had better know that one. ;) LMAO! That movie's the best for some of the worst (best?) quotes ever. Still not going to see Havana Nights though...and I even watched that Mariah Carey trainwreck Glitter!

Lesson learned: Weed can't make anything fun. :(

I watched part of it. It was pretty fun to guess the quotes as they introduced a movie or scene, but when I realized it'd be on for another 2 hours, I had to end my stay.

So, obviously "may the force be with you" was destined to be in the top 10, but how is it credited to Han Solo? Shouldn't it have been Obi-wan's version of "May the force be with you...always" ?

101. Hey, Lama, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know? And he says: "Oh, uh, there won't be any money but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that going for me. Which is nice.

- Caddyshack

Hahah, yes. Here's the full quote for that...

So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

hahah, big hitter, the lama...

"42. Plastics. The Graduate, 1967"

"63. Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me. Aren't you? The Graduate, 1967"

As a one-time film major, I find it... astonishing that a super famous line ranked in under a line I'd never even heard of from the same film.

But, you know... AFI marches on.

Caddyshack needed so much more play in that list:(RIP Rodney):

"Hey, doll. Could you scare up another round for our table over here? And tell the cook this is low grade dogfood. I've had better food at the ballgame, you know? This steak still has marks from where the jockey was hitting it."

If you can, see GWTW on a big screen, as it has epic qualities to it. (There's a scene which starts out at ground level with a wounded soldier, and then backs up, and up, and up, to see a whole field of wounded soldiers, and it just doesn't work the same on a 21" TV.)

Aloha,

Brad
