Jay Funk Dawg
Nice read. I know that The Slip travel with their own sound people, so the slip's camp should be responsible (to a degree) for the evening's sound. However the venue layout and specific gear does have a lot to do with the overall sound.(I know they are pretty picky on type of mixing board etc...)I wish I was there.. I'm addicted to the songs on www.theslip.com homepage... Even Rats, Children of December, and especially Surprise me Mr Davis' Sleepy head and I hate love. Now when is the album coming out? FairySari
Thanks for the review, Shain. Makes me remember the night a little clearer. I bet if the Icon was full of people, the temperature would be perfect. Too bad it was so empty in there. Best part of the venue: $2 beer. Northern Wish
Nice,Too bad about the sound; but a bad sounding Slip show is better than the crispiest SCIncident you could ever attend.I need more live Slip in my life,Sean

Jay Funk Dawg
To think they passed up playing Toronto for a sub-attended Buffalo show!

zero
Yeah I thought the same thing about the Even Rats read - missed the boat on that one. Spring's nice in Canada... folks on Capitol Hill... I figure that's north and south of the 49th non?Not a bad review but I've read better from Shain, a bit sloppy here and there. Just compared to his other stuff.
