It's really amazing how a CD which is not yet released will inevitably end up on the P2P networks. Bands should really just take advantage and dump teasers out there. Remember when you could by 2-sided single 45's? the B-side doesn't even have to be on the album. Bands should put out singles with live B-sides on the P2P trackers.

I'm sure anyone who's into the Slip will be buying it, especially if we can get it at a show in OTTAWA I'm also sure that there are people that don't dig the Slip and will probably just honour it with a listen. But those people will eventually like the Slip. There is no way that they can't.

it's a shame. i'm a big fan of watching videos that have mostly come from peoples old video tape collections. the quality isn't ever enough for anyone to worry about lost revenues. that's the sick part of it all.

For me, I target between 11 and 11:30. some nights I 'll look at the clock and go "holy shit. it's midnight" and then go to bed. by my math, if I can sleep solid for 7.5-9 hours, I'm doing real good. I don't get up until between 7:20 and 7:45 so the math works out for the most part.

I think the shipping was $7.79 to Ottawa. I made it worth it by getting a few spindles and I have what appears to be a lifetime supply of sleeves. I also recall being surprised at the speed of the delivery.

Sounds like the bar also jumped the gun then, in my opinion, if they confirmed with you only to say different later. i have no idea what you mean about gun jumping. the bar held the date and said if the band is confirmed then the venue is theirs.

Mavericks has held the date. There is no problem there. I just hate having to go back and tell them that it isn't in fact confirmed. Shane is saying that the agent confirmed and then then unconfirmed, I believe.

Clarification for Ottawa. The show was confirmed to me, and I confirmed everything on this end with Mavericks. An announcement was made and then I received word that they weren't confirmed. That's the facts. I just don't understand why I was told that it was confirmed if it wasn't. Simple disappointment and a general annoyance of having to backtrack with Mavericks.

Let me chime in here. I am experiencing the same thing. After finding out last week that Ottawa was confirmed, I just found out that it really isn't confirmed. How's that grab you? I will now have to edit posts stating the shows and dates I guess? I've had to ask Mavericks to move the dates too many times already and I'm afraid this type of activity is not good for them either.
