  1. Thanks Bradm and the folks that pm'ed me. I'll be looking into all the suggestions.
  2. I'm looking for someone to design a website for me to feature my published work and photography... I'm looking for something simple but hip with a bit of an urban feel. Any recommendations?
  3. I've seen all three recommended perform... I'd go with Hunter Eves. Shelby - great voice, agreed. Saw Tiiu this summer, I think has a ton of potential but she's got a ways to go yet. Hunter Eves I would vouch would be the most ready for this opportunity. She has incredibly unique songs, a killer voice and ability on keys as well as a crazy charismatic personality. Just my 2 cents.

    I am so sad

    rest in peace kaya.
  5. Loved this movie when we saw it today (boxing day). Had both of us choked up. Also saw the true story behind the movie on Oprah which was incredible and inspiring.
  6. Rest in peace Mr. James Brown.
  7. Just got this album for an Xpress review. I am in love. I'm kinda surprised it leaked so early considering this thread was in October and the cd drops in Jan?!

    Thinking of you Cully.((hugs))
  9. Sent him a pm to check out this thread. On greasecar.com they make it sound so easy. Check out the profiles of the folks who did it, they hardly look like mensa subscribers. http://www.greasecar.com/profiles_list.cfm And sure, maybe I dont know how to change a tire. But I could learn today. I've just never needed to.
  10. Agreed. Although I get the feeling you're being polite here... Seriously though, have you done this before Hux? Do you know anything about it? Thanks Ollie. I guess Randy's my guy! I'll check out his site. Update: Not so impressive, barcodes site. It includes a whole two sentences and three teeny pics from September. Shows potential though. Time for an update barcode!
  11. Thanks for the info KevO. Its kind of intimidating but I guess I have to read this stuff if I'm even considering it. How about used vegetable oil? Anyone ever done that? There's this incredible site: http://greasecar.com/ They sell kits for converting an engine (these ones do need to be converted) for around $700 bucks. You type in the car you have and it lists everything you need. I dont own a diesel car, that would be part 1 of the project I guess. Can you drive normal speeds in a biodiesal or veg oil car?
  12. Biodiesel? Anyone ever converted a car to run on biodiesel or food grease? I dont even know how to change a tire. Do you think if I did enough research I'd be able to figure convert an engine?

    I'm so sorry Cully.
  14. Looking forward to it! Tonight, 7pm at the Saw
  15. Kind of "If you cant beat 'em join 'em!" Definitely a sensible suggestion. I'll give it a shot.
  16. Sure - Oni, author of Gettostocracy, and one of Canada's top slam poets teaches kids workshops in schools. I bet she'd love to. If she wasn't available, she'd be able to recommend someone. Oni has organised Slams as well... I wrote about Oni in the Xpress this week (Check it out here www.ottawaxpress.ca) Her email address is mesooni@yahoo.com
  17. We just saw You, Me and Dupree and enjoyed it. Nice light-hearted entertainment. Apparently Kate and hubby are no more, she's been rumoured to be with Owen Wilson. I adore Kate and think she's gorgeous as is.
  18. awesome! would that be lynne saxberg making herself useful?
  19. I wonder why that original blog is deleted? I feel really bad for his family. He's got little kids...
  20. Thanks Dave Big thanks to Bouche. It was pretty much a year ago that I talked to Bouche about doing a bit of writing and did my first Umphrey's interview. So its really thanks to Bouche that I'm doing what I always dreamed of. Oni's poetry (the cover story) is really awesome. She'll be slamm'n on Friday night at 7pm, there's snacks and a book signing. So perhaps a pre-slip stop?
