  1. Awesome Margie. You should make up flyers to give out at the Ween show also as people will be stoked to party.
  2. Geez, now I wish I had satellite: SIRIUS Celebrates Weir at 60 Tuesday October 16th will mark the 60th birthday of Mr. Robert Hall Weir. SIRIUS Satellite Radio’s Grateful Dead Channel will mark the occasion with a day of programming devoted to Bobby, including a one hour program hosted by Weir himself. The action will kick off at 3 am ET as the channel will air the celebrated Grateful Dead performance that took place on Weir's 42nd birthday, the 10/16/89 Meadowlands show that featured the second "Dark Star" in five years after the band re-introduced it during its Hampton Coliseum Warlocks show on 10/9/89. Tuesday's Weircentric offerings also will include an interview with David Gans as well as music from RatDog, Kingfish, and Bobby & The Midnights.
  3. I get it, Saturday the 13th in Dover! All the bikers with dyslexia should be there in full force.
  4. This time I'm just gonna take the whole week off afterwards as it took that long to recover.
  5. I had 10 invites stored up and I checked today and they are all gone. Does anyone know why this would happen? My ratio has slipped to below 100% but does that mean I lose my invites?
  6. I tried to log onto one of my favorite torrent sites this morning and this message was on the site: "We received a letter from a lawyer represeting the CRIA, they were threatening with legal action and We need to start blocking Canadian traffic because of this. If you reside in Canada, that is the reason you are being redirected to this message. Thanks for your understanding, and sorry for any inconvenience." I wonder if Oink is next?
  7. Roxy and I went there a month ago. It is really fun. Take chemicals.
  8. They are going to show up with an R& B singer and bore the house to its knees.
  9. Come on Schwa live a little. I still have some of that strain if you'd like to try it. I put it away after everyone lost their marbles.
  10. Schwa and I listened to this last night and it kicks ass. I couldn't stop smiling. Everything you'd expect from them and much more. The 2nd last song sounds like the Allman Brothers or something. Check it out!
  11. Didn't that happen to a Moosehead truck in NB a couple years ago? Maybe if people quit stealing it they could drop the price.
  12. I feel bad for Leslie Neilson as the Naked Gun Trilogy royalties just aren't rolling in because of OJ.
  13. It was released on Sept. 11. I got it from Oink but it should be in stores.
  14. This album sounds more like MMW than anything I've heard Bernie do with P-Funk or Les Claypool etc. Very cool nevertheless. Here's the write up from Oink: He may be 63 years old, but Bernie Worrell can still bring the funk like no other. The former musical director and co-founding member of Paraliment/Funkadelic, Worrell is known for combining classically trained keyboard wizardry with extraordinary improvisational skills to cross all musical boundaries while crafting some of the funkiest music known to man. Improvisczario, Worrell’s most recent, is the instrumental album he has longed to record; a jazz/funk/rock project that is anchored by the rhythm section of Will Calhoun (Living Colour) on drums and bassist Brett Bass. Throughout, Worrell’s keys glide over the top, moving effortlessly from baby grand to Hammond B3 to Clavinet to Wurlitzer, even taking a turn on Thelonious Monk’s old Celeste piano. Like contemporaries Medeski, Martin and Wood, or Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, this project centers around three virtuosos dropped into an improvisational setting, and the result is a work of art. Worrell also invited a couple of additional friends, Warren Haynes and Mike Gordon, to add to a few of the tracks. Haynes adds a mean slide guitar to “Dirty†and “Killer Mosquito,†while Mike Gordon showcases banjo talent on “Up In the Hills.†Improvisczario is an impressive CD, so much so that many will consider it a modern masterpiece of improvisational music.
  15. "Your ticket(s) will be shipped 0 days before the performance date." I hope that's enough time to get them in the mail.
  16. Sorry Hal. I think you and your son were in the wrong on this one.
  17. The jam scene in South-Western Ontario might be dead, but my Steve Murphy cover-band has been getting more bookings than ever.
