  1. Sloan is a great band! Fabulous songs, catchy hooks, nice harmonies. What else could you ask for? They've never disappointed me in a live setting, either. I haven't heard the new album yet, but I hope to have the opportunity to pick it up some time. Of course, I don't expect to find it in my local Korean CD store...
  2. John Coltrane, Coltrane. But not the deluxe edition - just the regular ol' remaster.
  3. I'll second that emotion. I went to the first show at PJC and couldn't really get what the hype was all about. I think the second time she came around, I stayed home and listened to James Brown and Aretha Franklin (not at the same time).
  4. Crowded House got back together? Who's drumming for them? Or did they find a way to bring Paul Hester back from the dead?
  5. They should be sued for false advertising!
  6. It's nice to see that this archival series is moving ahead at full steam, especially after having been delayed so many times. I hope this pattern continues.
  7. Charles Mingus, Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus.
  8. Saw Brecker play here in Seoul a few years back with Herbie Hancock, Brian Blade, Roy Hargrove and Michael Patitucci. Great stuff. For a couple of great Michael Brecker albums, check out:Tales From the Hudson (with Pat Metheny, McCoy Tyner, Dave Holland and Jack DeJohnette) and Two Blocks From the Edge.
  9. Heather Mallick is one of my favourite columnists ever.
  10. Something something something.
