my bed is sooooooo comfortable. even so i don't get enough sleep. i generally get about 6 hours a night, usually get to bed around midnight. weekends it's much later obviously.
  2. someone leak the damn album already!!!
  3. Pam: [We got Kevin] 69 Cup-of-Noodles. Jim: Which we realize sounds crass, but it is his favorite number. Pam: And his favorite lunch.
  4. just like 40-60% of the city definitely won't be voting for him, or his version of truthiness.
  5. hehe... yesterday the Lovely Feathers emailed another promoter friend of mine to say they had an Ottawa show in December with The Slip.
  6. i didn't pre-order, no. i usually just check with compact music to see if they'll be getting something when it comes out, then i go pick it up. not worried. I just checked and itunes tells me i have 20.5 days of music I haven't yet listened to on my computer. so i can wait for it. (still if i do find it ahead of time it will go to the top of the pile)
  7. mmmmm rita celli running into my bed........ er.
  8. i haven't had that toggled-screen for a long time . I turned it off once, it's stayed away ever since.
  9. sorry, i haven't bought one in a while. bestbuy and futurecrap will probably have the most stock, but i have no idea about prices.
  10. November 21 is the release date for a new Tom Waits 3-disc set. I heard most of this last night for the first time and I was amazed. Perhaps it was the first-time jitters, but I was really impressed yet again. I will listen more and more. Consistently one of my favourite artists; I gre up on a steady diet of Closing Time, Nighthawks, and Swordfishtrombones and Rain Dogs. I can go months without listening to a note, but when I put it back on it all comes back.
  11. i think they are sold at most Mac's Milk stores... The Quickie across from Babylon has them too. Don't think I've ever seen them in grocery stores though.
  12. they are a bit on the dry side, you are right. but rarely do i have a snack that doesn't involve a long cool glass of iced tea. they are also really bad for you healthwise. i usually eat half a bag at a time.
  13. you guys are all retarded. the best snack HANDS DOWN is Snyder's of Hanover Pretzel Pieces. They are amazing. There are 6 flavours that I know of: Hot Buffalo Wing, Buttermilk Ranch, Cheddar, Honey BBQ, Honey Mustard and Onion, and Jalapeno My favourite is the Honey Mustard and Onion.
  14. Tournament of Hearts has stature?? Good points, although seems limited to their like of Canadian bands, a lyrical reference to Canada, and a title of an EP. When you originally said 'Canadian record' I immediately though of the Rheostatics... So I guess that's my barometer of a Canadian record.. And I doubt this Slip record will get anywhere close to the Canadian-ness of that. I wonder if the Slip have been to the Prairies. As for the record leaking - For my sake I hope it does soon! Although I can wait two weeks with no problem. I'll be able to comment better once I hear the disc, right now I'm discussing blind.
  15. didn't i read this yesterday? i would like to hear the recorded version of this, i guess until then i can't really comment. i gotta wait til november! wondering if you can elaborate on the 'canadian album by american band' comment.
  16. i've read reviews of maybe half the shows on the current tour and it seems to me, secondhand albeit, that they're either starting to really hate each other for real, life on the road has been tough, the alcohol is too free-flowing, drew is a egomaniac, or a combination of above Seems like kevin is isolating himself from the band with attitude, spearin is forgetting his parts, whiteman is falling over drunk, and millan is surlier than usual. but it's all secondhand from reviews on the internet, it could be nothing. if i was at that knoxville show i'd be pretty pissed though.
  17. the iPod turned 5 yesterday. I'm still on my first, it will be 3 years old next week. Good times.
  18. go to allmusic.com and read up on the discs there, very helpful resource. and i should add for the ottawa folk, the show saturday isn't sold out like i said it was. tickets still available at ticketmaster. $35 + $2.20 + $7.50 = expensive though. Ted Leo is awesome. I saw their last Ottawa show and man it was excellent.
  19. Found this review from the Sunday night show in Knoxville. I think these guys are losing it and we're not gonna be seeing Broken Social Scene again; I think the hiatus will be permanent. The egos and livers need to find another muse it sounds like.
  20. yeah that tool is a good one. if you don't want to install new software you can change multiple files at once with the simple windows method above though too, just multi-select, right click, etc etc.. i do all my tagging in itunes anyways.
  21. Transatlanticism is their best, IMO. 'We Looked Like Giants' is my winter theme. They're playing this weekend in Ottawa with the amazingawesome Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, but tickets are too expensive and sold out.

    Hip Winter Tour

i've had a change of heart. they don't tour too often and i'm sure they'll sell out the arenas. good for them. i might just go the montreal show in a couple weeks instead...

    Hip Winter Tour

in a smaller club $64 is fair. but $69 + fees in an arena is really expensive, IMO.
