    Paris

Phish played there on 2.18.1997 There is too much anger and struggle in the world. Today is a day for love. Fuck.
  2. I agree. I'd love to see the setlist they had planned. The delay with security, I feel, led to a delayed start time. At most of the shows they have gone on at 7:15 ish while Buffalo was just after 7:30. When I looked at my phone and saw 7:15 the place was maybe 20% full and that arena has a strict 11pm curfew.
  3. I'm on a long road trip and have been exploring some of this set. The 1971 show is freaking amazing. I don't know what the source is or the bitrate of my recording blah blah blah but listening to it with the surround function on the car stereo is blowing my mind. Jerry forgets a bunch of lyrics in the first set. What kind of drugs were they doing that year?
  4. It was a solid show for sure! Mayer's playing was, to pin it to one word, tasteful (even if his facial contortions while playing have to be the worst in the game). He really killed at times and the crowd really responded to it but he didn't devolve into any one man wankery. There was a lot of smiles and visual cues between he and both Bob + Oteil all night. His enthusiasm was infectious and a breath of fresh air. Oteil was the 1st star last night - he was prominent in the mix from my seats and he was super- exploring every last harmonic of the lows and highs of that six string bass. Security was really lax, I really like that venue because of the staff. The crowd in my section was awesome. It was even better when KevO and his crew took up some of the empty seats around me. I had one neighbour across one row for most of the first set. My only complaint was the long line to get through security. It seemed it didn't move at all for a while and then the flood gates opened. I was surprised at the metal detectors but this is becoming much more common, I guess I should just get over it. {{Old man shakes fist at clouds}} Well I guess I could complain about that El Paso too but you've got to know your audience....

  6. The first four albums are also being rereleased on vinyl. Amazon lists them as a December 4th release date.
  7. The Band -Rock of Ages : Horn Arrangements was probably the first time I ever read his name in liner notes. After that it seemed like I read them everywhere.
  8. Only for the cd on amazon.ca - the vinyl is only pre-ordering on amazon.com
  9. You will be very surprised at how much that area has improved since your last visit. And it is called First Niagara Center now If anyone wants pre-show food and drinks I will be at Dinosaur BBQ on Franklin St. around 4:30. Show time is approx. 20 minutes after the 7pm call time on the ticket. They've been starting at 7:15 - 7:20 - don't say you weren't warned!
  10. You should grab them, they are both really solid.
  11. That is a great idea but I will just be passing through Buffalo on my way to Vermont.
  12. Any last minute stragglers want to hit up the Buffalo show next week? I've got a coupon on ScoreBig that will give me lower bowl along the back for about $70 USD - or floors on StubHub can be had for $85 each. I'll also have a hotel room close to the venue. Who all is going already?
  13. I love that this thread popped up again. I just got back from a music themed road trip that included Third Man Records, Grimey's, Ernest Tubbs and The Groove. I came home with a nice selection of tunes and can't wait for tonight to crack them open!
  14. Aw yeah! The previous boxed sets have been incredible, I expect that this one will be too.
  15. These aren't going to turn your world upside down with a new flavour combo, but I've been hooked on these for months....
  16. That link gives me a big pop up (warning). Not safe, so says my computer.
  17. It's all over now, baby blue. That was fun while it lasted, grabbed lots of back catalog stuff in HQ but as a result I didn't increase my share ratio at all.
  18. This is supposed to run until 4pm tomorrow. Load up on new tunes!
  19. I remember a very late night over at Booche's when we locked in to this bad boy. Needless to say there wasn't much talking for the next 45 minutes despite the beer and whiskey.
  20. I haven't been to the Danforth Music Hall yet, but we saw Isbell in May and I don't know how anyone could sit through his shows. They rock live way more than on the albums.
  21. Regular on sale is tomorrow folks. It sucks that it is a Monday for sure, but this is his first Toronto show in over 2 years : Don't sleep on this one.
  22. Jason Isbell w/ Shovels and Rope: Monday February 29th. Spotify pre-sale is on now. Password is 24frames: http://www.ticketmaster.com/jason-isbell-toronto-ontario-02-29-2016/event/10004F31E44A7780?artistid=1130320&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=1 This should be a good one and it will likely sell out quickly.
  23. If anyone could comment on the vendor section over the weekend about any improvements / problems you saw I would appreciate it. We are thinking of coming back next year but so far this doesn't sound promising.
  24. I really wish I could have gone. I wonder if they'll do a NYE run? All signs point to yes but then Trey made that speech the other night that only mentioned Mexico not MSG or NYE. I won't be seeing them again until next summer which is a shame because I really believe they are playing better now than in years. This has been a really exciting year to be a Phish fan and it's been a long time since I thought that. I've probably listened to more Phish since May than in the last 2 or 3 years combined. Cheers to all the Phish fans on this board. Patience is a virtue!
