Roger Waters will follow up his fall North American tour performing "Dark Side of the Moon" in its entirety with a spring run, kicking off May 18 in West Palm Beach, Fla. The Pink Floyd principal will be backed by a six-piece band, which includes his son Harry on Hammond organ, and three vocalists. Waters first tested the "Dark Side" concept with a European tour last summer, then visited North America in the fall. Sans Waters, Pink Floyd performed "Dark Side of the Moon" in full for the first time during its 1994 tour in support of "The Division Bell." With Waters back in the fold, the band performed the "Dark Side" tracks "Breathe" and "Money" as part of its four-song set at Live 8 in 2005. Before the North American dates, Waters and company are on the road across the world through May 14 in Dublin. The band next plays Hong Kong tomorrow (Feb. 15). Tickets to the 2007 edition of Ozzfest will be free, organizers said today (Feb. 6). The 25-date tour will begin July 7 in Los Angeles; details have yet to be announced regarding distribution of tickets. The event, which will be headlined by Ozzy Osbourne, will be underwritten by a host of sponsorship deals. "For the last few years, ticket prices have steadily climbed as artists demand more and more money for summer tours," says tour creator Sharon Osbourne. "We certainly want everybody to make money; however, we also want the kids to be able to afford to come out and have an incredible experience. If we continued with the traditional touring festival model, we would have no choice but to raise ticket prices again this year." Ozzfest will visit such cities as San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Albuquerque, N.M., Phoenix, Dallas, San Antonio, Kansas City, Mo., St Louis, Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Pa., New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Hartford, Conn., Charlotte, N.C., Atlanta, West Palm Beach, Fla., and Nashville. Besides Osbourne, the rest of the lineup is still coming together. The artist will be performing material intended for his first studio album since 2001, due later this year. Osbourne only played a handful of Ozzfest shows last year, giving way to mainstage acts such as System Of A Down, Disturbed and Hatebreed.

I remember years ago Bruce Willis was on David Letterman well after Die Hard 3, 'Die Hard with a Vengance' had been released. During the interview Bruce said to Dave that not too long before the interview he had nearly drowned and while he didn't know if he was going to live or die (hard), he said a prayer to God that if God would save him he would never make another Die Hard. The crowd laughed as he obviously did not die (hard) that day. I just have to say this to Bruce Willis, it is not a good idea to lie to God like that. Tim

I would enjoy seeing Son Volt perform "Drug Store Truck Driving Man" as well, unfortunately I will be unable to attend this show as I will be seeing one of Gram Parson's old bandmates Chris Hillman on the same night at Hugh's Room. I was hoping that the Son Volt show would go late and that I could possibly catch the end of their set after Hillman, but that looks not to be the case if they are said to be going on at 8:30pm. Chris Hillman has not performed in Toronto in years and the Byrds are my all-time favorite American band. Also the fact that Jay Farrar is far younger than Hillman makes this a none decision. Unfortunately in the late nineties on two separate occasions I missed Son Volt in Toronto both times to see Neil Young's Bridge School Concerts at the Shoreline in Mountain View, California. Again an easy decision to make, though unfortunately I never saw Son Volt's original lineup due to those conflicts. At least on this time around I have already have seen Son Volt's latest lineup. If Sufjan Stevens was playing in Toronto on March 24, I would have been at the gig. Since this was an honest mistake and my hopes were quickly crushed, I'll be attending the Autumn Defense gig at the Horseshoe on Saturday March 24. The Autumn Defense are the duo of John Stirratt and Patrick Sansone. Stirratt being an original member of Wilco and Sansone who is now also a member of Wilco. This is what the Autumn Defense myspace page says about the band: Sounds Like: Bread, Cat Stevens, early Bee Gees, Colin Blunstone, Nick Drake, Simon and Garfunkel, Love, CSN&Y, Byrds, 70s Soft-Rock I would agree with those influences. I saw the Autumn Defense back in 2004 at the Horseshoe and they even covered the Byrds at the gig. Tim

Ryan O’Marra scored the go-ahead goal in the second period and added another in the third as the Saginaw Spirit edged the Oshawa Generals 5-4 in Ontario Hockey League play Friday night in Saginaw. The loss drops Oshawa’s record to 23-18-1-4, but the Generals are still in fourth place in the East Division standings heading into Sunday’s game. The Generals host the Peterborough Petes Sunday at 6:05 p.m. at the General Motors Centre. One of the sidelights of Friday’s game was a bet between Oshawa Mayor John Gray and Colbert, who host The Colbert Report on The Comedy Network. The bet was if the Generals won, Colbert would wear a Generals jersey on his show, if the Spirit won, March 20 would be declared Stephen Colbert Day in Oshawa. The TV talk show host wins the bet, as O’Marra’s goals broke a 3-3 tie and helped the Spirit snap a three-game losing streak. The teams traded goals in the first two periods, with the Spirit three times taking a one-goal lead with the Generals responding, before O’Marra fired the go-ahead goal at 12:47 of the second period. O’Marra made it 5-3 with his goal at 1:44 of the third period to give the Spirit some insurance, with goalie Marc-Andre Perron making several big saves to keep the Generals from getting back into the game. John Tavares continued his torrid scoring for the Generals with two goals and an assist, giving him a league leading 52 goals and 98 points. I'm all about having fun, especially at concerts that I will actually be attending. If I'm wrong I'll be paying whatever price to get me at a reunited Led Zeppelin concert and I will be sure to say you were right phorbesie. But I'm not going to hold my breath. Robert Plant doesn't want to tour as Led Zeppelin agan. When Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were being interviewed for their greatest hits albums a couple of years ago they said they were open to the idea, but not Plant. And the same conversation happened when Led Zeppelin went into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Robert Plant could change his mind, but I doubt it. I love Led Zeppelin and I also love most of what they have done since. I'll look forward to the next Strange Sensation album and even more so to the T Bone Burnett and Alison Krauss project that Plant says he has on the horizon. That will be fun. Tim
