  1. I'll be at Yes this July and I'll also be at Jon Anderson this upcoming Saturday. Peace, Tim
  2. I got tickets to see Gary Louris the day it went on sale. I haven't missed Louris in any form in Toronto since 1998 and the only reason that streak isn't longer is because I was in Ottawa from 1994-1997. Gary's debut solo album 'Vagabonds' is a fantastic album and an early favorite of mine for album of the year. I look forward to hearing material from all his previous material, the Jayhawks, Golden Smog, solo and hopefully some choice covers thrown in. Peace, Tim
  3. I got the cheapest tickets for Leonard Cohen on Friday June 6, I'll be sitting in the last row of the venue BALC11 ROW ZZ SEATS 77-78. Since I go to 60 plus shows a year all around North America and now across the Atlantic Ocean, when I'm able I often get the cheaper tickets for artists so I am able to go to more shows. I'm looking forward to seeing Cohen for the first time, after seeing Stevie Wonder last year Cohen became the number one person on my wish list of who I haven't seen yet live. Peace, Tim
  4. I have a friend that gambles a lot of money at the Fallsview Casino and that person is usually able to get me free tickets to nearly every show at the Avalon Ballroom Theatre. Unfortunately for Ringo Starr opening his 2008 All-Star Band Tour, there were no free/comp tickets for even Platinum Card Holders at the Fallsview Casino. The Onsale to the General Public was this past Friday March 14 at 12PM EDT. I went on right at noon and was lucky enough to get a pair of tickets for the opening night of the tour. The venue only seats 1008 people so I believe both shows for Ringo Starr sold out in a matter of minutes. Since you will not get any tickets from the casino being a card holder, I would just daily go back and try for tickets on ticketmaster.ca and hopefully something will come up. As Ringo would say, Peace and Love, Tim
  5. See you all there tonight. And edger if you don't make it I believe all of us will understand. Peace, Tim
  6. See you all there for Anthony's birthday. Peace, Tim
  7. It was good to see you as well, even if it was brief. Hopefully we will see each other again tonight at Steve Earle. "Kitty's Back" was by far the best part of the gig for me last night. It was my only personal debut at Copps and I've always loved Springteen's second album and I'm so happy that I've been hearing songs off it at recent performances. It was a greatest hits type show at Copps and I often complain about that when I have seen an artist as many times as I have seen the Boss, but when it comes to that Jersey Boy it's all good. I'm seriously debating on going to see him again in Buffalo on Friday night at HSBC Arena which is never sold out. Peace, Tim
  8. I love Steve Earle's latest album 'Washington Square Serenade' and I am looking forward to seeing Earle again tonight. Peace, Tim
  9. Sweet, I'll text or call you when I get there. I guess you also can't get there before 5PM to try for the front section on the floor. Tim
  10. I'm GA tonight, anybody else on the floor that won't have time to get the front section because they have to work? Tim
  11. I wish I could've made it to see Ray Davies. Damn work, which does pays for all my music addiction, as it sometimes denies me of the very same addiction. Tim
  12. Happy Birthday Brian! I hope you have a great one with your new bride to be Sunghee. Peace and Love, Tim
  13. I wouldn't pull anything, each bonnaroo has had something different for everyone that might make that specific year the best for them personally. Personally my favorite bonnaroo that I have attended thus far happened in 2004 and my least favorite was 2005. I had tickets to see bonnaroo in 2006 but was unable to attend as my mother died on June 16, 2006 so you can see why I was unable to attend. Peace, Tim
  14. "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" was the reason I stopped listening to Aerosmith. As I grow older I try and live and let live and not put down artists for what they decide to do. That said when a hard rock band like Aerosmith turn to Diane Warren for the aforementioned song, that was the final nail in the coffin for me and Aerosmith. I agree with Jaimoe that the first four Aerosmith albums are essential albums to own and I was a fan enough to go to see them live three times from 1993-1998, but after I heard them perform "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" at Copps Coliseum in 1998 that was the straw that broke the camels back. Now sometimes I regret not seeing Aerosmith on their tour for 'Honk on Bobo' in which they do blues classics like "Eyesight to the Blind," "You Gotta Move" and "I'm Ready," but in the end I'll have regrets that far supercede that one. As for AC/DC I too have been a fan and I have seen them a couple of times live. But whether or not their last few albums interested me or many others is up for serious debate. And I have passed AC/DC by twice as many times as the times that I have actually seen them live. I look at AC/DC and Aerosmith and I think of my youth, much the way I think of other bands like Kiss and Van Halen. I saw Kiss in 1998 with the original line-up and the makeup and that was enough for me. I saw Van Halen with Sammy Hagar and went back to see them with Gary Cherone and then again with Sammy Hagar and was drawn back to seeing Eddie and the boys when they brought back David Lee Roth. Lineup changes are what brought be back to Van Halen, though all of the aforementioned bands remind me of my youth and do not grab me the way they once did. Now another band from my youth like Led Zeppelin still move me today as they once did because they are the class of hard rock that all others are judged by and for good reason, because they are the best. So would I pay to see either AC/DC or Aerosmith again, not likely. Would I buy their latest albums if they came out, not likely. Though I will never say never as there was a time when both of these bands, were often on my rotation of bands to play. Peace, Tim
  15. I will debate on going to this over time. I would just like to first see what other gigs are announced for around that time of the year, as that is the hotbed for big time gigs around the Great Lakes and the rest of North America. Peace, Tim
  16. I just got my tickets for yet another bonnaroo (I've been to all of them minus 2006). I really don't feel you can beat it when it comes to the amount of quality artists that are on the bill for the amount you spend. I hope to see many of you on here there. Peace, Tim
  17. Congratulations Brian & Sunghee, I want to wish you two the best in all that you do and I look forward to seeing you both again at some point in 2008. I love you both, Tim
  18. I saw Cat Power perform at the Kool Haus in Toronto on Saturday February 9, 2007. I was there with the hope to hear one of the many Bob Dylan songs that she covers, either "Paths of Victory," "Knockin' On Heaven's Door," "Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again" or her latest Dylan cover "I Believe in You." I picked up her newest covers album 'Jukebox' which has 'I Believe in You" on it and I took a double take after my first listen of the Chan Marshall (who is Cat Power) original "Song to Bobby" which the title reminded me immediately of Dylan's tribute "Song to Woody" back on his debut on Columbia Records. "Song to Bobby" is a passionate song of Chan Marshall's love for Bob Dylan. I unfortunately did not get a cover of Dylan at the Kool Haus gig, though I did get a powerful performance of "Song to Bobby." The gig completely won me over and I look forward to Cat Power's future efforts and who knows maybe next time I will get a Dylan cover, if not I'll still be happy to see her perform live again. Peace, Tim Here's the lyrics to: Song to Bobby (by Chan Marshall): I wanna tell you I’ve always wanted to tell you What I never had the chance to say What I feel in my heart from the beginning to my time today I was fifteen, sixteen maybe In the park I was waving my arms You were there I could swear And you sang the song that I was screaming I wanted to Another time was in South Carolina It’s always been the third encore And this wind came blowin’ in Can you tell me who were you singing for? Oh my God, can you tell me who you were singin’ to? Phone call from in New York city office You were supposedly asking to see me Oh how I wanted to tell you That I was only just 400 miles away Who could believe that you were calling? I was in deceit, I was 400 miles behind Backstage pass in my hand Givin’ you my heart was my plan I wish I could tell you My chance In the middle of the stadium in Paris, France Can I finally tell you Can I finally tell you To be my man April, Paris, can I see you? Can you please be my man?

The co-founder of influential alt-country rock bands such as the Jayhawks & Golden Smog, Gary has also recently produced the Sadies latest effort 'New Season.' I have seen Gary on numerous occasions and I am very much looking forward to seeing as a solo artist for the first time.
