  1. Mike and I were just talking about this last weekend, how much we enjoyed it last year. I'd love to go this year, but I have plans. bouche, you can still go. This might be a sausage party with a lot of the gals out of town that afternoon.
  2. OMG Dinghy, that sounds amazing. I love the Murray Street Restaurant.
  3. Mike and I are eating at Joel Rubuchon when we're in Vegas in a few weeks. The last Top Chef episode got me so excited for that!

    beets?

MMmmm, that sounds really good StaggerLee. We have a fridge full of yellow beets. We`ll heave to try it this week.
  5. I've been making this recipe different every time depending on what's in the fridge. Vary the herbs, add beans, you got broccoli? Add that. It pretty much works with any combo of veggies, beans, sausage and pasta.
  6. I agree with every word of your post AD. Sorry for the confusing thread title folks! I was just seeing if your brains still worked after the long weekend.
  7. Hells Kitchen is staged, dramatic in a stupid way and the contestants don't know shit. I can't imagine any of the contestants actually running a professional kitchen. Top Chef is pro and it has a great reputation amongst real chefs. It's conducted with integrity and the contestants are truly talented people. I watch them both, but Top Chef is the bomb!
  8. We watched the first three episodes of Top Chef Las Vegas yesterday. OMG I love Top Chef!! Is there any better reality show on television? I didn't think so.
  9. I have never seen The Iron Giant, but earlier this year when I asked about your favorite PG movies, it came up a couple of times, so I'm throwing caution to the wind and showing Iron Giant this Saturday. Saturday, September 12th. Sunset - Approx. 7:20pm Parking lot at the corner of Slater and Lyon. Bring a lawnchair Weather permitting Popcorn and drinks available with a donation to the David Suzuki Foundation.
  10. What a fantastic night, except I kept looking around for Velvet and he wasn't there. Holy packed batman! The Blacksheep was hot and insane! I have never seen it even close to being that full before. Everyone was sin good spirits. Barr Brothers opening was amazing. So many times I overheard people saying "I can't believe it's only two guys and a harp up there, the sound is so full." They weren't kidding. Great, great set. That was my first Plants and Animals experience and though I could barely see the stage (at the Blacksheep! A place that's usually so intimate? I know!) Everything I heard was fan-bloody-tastic. Great talents and great songs. I do love me some Eric Warren. Mmmm mmmm mmm! Thanks Lynners!
  11. Just a heads up that Sirius Jam On is airing an entire weekend of "Phish School". History lessons, trivia, song info, etc. I thought they were only going to play Phish music, but they're not.
  12. I am always envious of people who get long weekends as a birthday present. Enjoy it Mr. Mtn.
  13. I'm going to agree with bouche. That's the least offensive option IMO. That KFC bowl has always made me gag.
  14. I hear ya Velvet. This one feels like it's over before it even began.
  15. Whoa the big 3-0!!! I know you've made the most of your twenties, but the thirties are even better! Enjoy your day and the decade ahead Kyla.
  16. That's sick. (Not the good sick, the sickening sick). If someone wants a chicken, why not get a chicken? If someone wants a pirate, why not get Keith Richards?
  17. You know, I don't think I've ever seen Field of Dreams! That's news to me!
  18. Ahhh fabulous Davey. I know how much of a fan you are.
  19. This is copied directly from an email from my Dad. Not a terrible idea for large sleepovers, or fun with kids, or even camping. ZIPLOC OMELET (This works great Good for when all your family is together. The best part is that no one has to wait for their special omelet ) Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker. Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more than 2) shake to combine them. Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, etc. Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake. Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up. Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water. Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed.
  20. Blech. What's happened to the music industry? I actually found this a timely tutorial. I'm spending the weekend with a 10 year old girl. It might actually make me seem cool if I know who the heck she's talking about.
  21. Well that's just lazy. I suspect they could have done the Nickleback Synch up with at least a dozen songs.
