  1. Here's mine: 1. Tune-Yards - w h o k i l l 2. Gillian Welch - The Harrow & The Harvest 3. Ryan Adams - Asses of Fire 4. Miracle Fortress - Was I The Wave? 5. Charlotte Cornfield - Two Horses 6. Sandro Perri - Impossible Spaces Also I still haven't heard the third Kevin Breit & Harry Manx album (Strictly Whatever), which came out this year. But I bet it's awesome too!
  2. Here's a pretty accurate review from the Saturday night show: http://www.chromewaves.net/2011/11/prince-at-the-air-canada-centre-in-toronto/
  3. Cool! Thanks Brad, I'm now on the Sisters group.
  4. What the!? Are you sure? (i.e. where did you see it?) Orbit Room website lists Chris Caddell, KB's myspace lists nothing. NOW lists nothing.
  5. I think Jaybone's talking about night 2. Not sure how long it was but I'd guess 2.5 hours tops. They turned off all the lights after he left the stage, then flashed the purple perimeter stage lights on & off a few times over the next 10 min while the crowd cheered (thinking this meant another encore), but that was it. A guy came out and announced that after party instead. Great show though!! Despite the lame old man behind me yelling whining and at me to sit down.
  6. Less than 1 minute walking distance from my pad!
  7. I just want to see Nickelback get boo'd at half time! http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/arts/music/nickelback-the-band-people-hate-just-for-the-fun-of-it/article2246727/ http://www.change.org/petitions/the-detroit-lions-replace-nickelback-as-the-halftime-show-for-the-thanksgiving-game Anyone got a link for a stream?
  8. Any idea what time The Purple One might hit the stage? Tickets say 8pm. Does he always do 3-hour marathon gigs or are those one-off shows?
  9. Whoops - corrected. Would love to hear what the Friday night show is like! I can't make it to either one. :-/
  10. Forgive me if some of this has already been posted; been away for 5 weeks! (Hope everyone is well). So, aside from the big party going on in KW that has been posted here a few times, just found out about two other things happening this week in Toronto: 1) Classic Albums Live, at Massey Hall Fri. Nov. 25 http://classicalbumslive.com/ Tix $20-$50+ 2) The Last Waltz 35th Anniversary Celebration @ Hard Rock Cafe, with Ronnie Hawkins Thurs. Nov. 24 http://www.ticketscene.ca/events/5433 Join The Hard Rock Cafe & Cambria as we Celebrate the 35th Anniversary of The Band's Last Waltz. The Hard Rock Cafe is located on the exact site (formerly The Friar's Tavern)where Ronnie Hawkins and The Hawks rocked Yonge Street. One September night, Bob Dylan entered the bar, jammed with The Hawks and then brought them with him on his journey into electric Rock & Roll. It happened right here, at 279 Yonge Street. A larger-than-life display sits in our front lobby celebrating the partnerhisp between Dylan. The Band. and Ronnie Hawkins. Our VIP ticket includes a full course Thanksgiving style dinner (The Last Walts took place on US Thanksgiving), we will then be joined by The Hawk, Ronnie Hawkins himself, for a Q&A, and commentary on the Last Waltz film. We will then "Bring it all back home" and recreate the Friar's Tavern feel with a 60's style dance party. Ronnie will be providing our DJ with a playlist of Rock and Soul music. Go- Go- Dancers will be there! Some proceeds from ticket and merch sales will go to World Hunger & Schizophrenia Society of Ontario. 1) Last Waltz 35th VIP Anniversary Package - $65 • 1 Full Course Thanksgiving Dinner • 1 Hard Rock Cafe Classic Tee or Collector’s Pin • 1 Hard Rock Cafe Mantra Tote • 1 Last Waltz Backstage Lanyard • 1 Friar’s Tavern Limited Edition Vintage Collector’s Poster • 2 Raffle tickets for The Last Waltz CD Library (Value $500) • 1 Guaranteed Seat at Last Waltz Celebration Including • Q&A with Ronnie Hawkins • Last Waltz Commentary with Ronnie Hawkins • Yonge Street 60’s Dance Party 2) Last Waltz 35th Anniversary Celebration Ticket $55 • Entry to Last Waltz Celebration Including • 1 Hard Rock Cafe Classic Tee or Collector’s Pin • 1 Raffle Ticket For the Last Waltz CD Library • Q&A with Ronnie Hawkins • Last Waltz Commentary with Ronnie Hawkins Anyone checking either of these out?
  11. In for the Saturday night at ACC, looking forward to it!
  12. My first big (arena) concert ever was GNR at Copps circa 1993 or so. It was amazing! Someone chucked a water bottle and hit Axl, he gave the whole crowd the finger - like fanned it across the crowd - then took off. Slash then took an extended solo to finish it off. Haha! Brian May band opened which was pretty awesome too.
  13. I saw them play for the first time in years, a few weeks ago in a church at Supercrawl (in Hamilton). They put on a great live show, quite moving! Looking forward to seeing them again.
  14. Ryan Adams on World Cafe (NPR): http://www.npr.org/2011/09/30/140934525/ryan-adams-on-world-cafe?ft=1&f=1103
  15. Woohoo! ORCH Row S, Seats 21-22.
  16. Anyone have any luck in round one? Not me. I had to reload the capcha security check thing 3 times before I got one that I could read.
  17. I've triple checked now, it is true.
  18. For the Toronto show it seems the Fan Club pre-sale is at 10 am' date=' and the Live Nation pre-sale is for noon...so you can try for both. [/quote'] Right! Thanks.. I thought I'd read that they were both at 10 AM.
  19. Yes thanks bouche too. Any thoughts on which of the two pre-sales is the best to try for (assuming they are both executed through the same TM page)?
  20. Where does it say solo show? EDIT: Never mind. Just looked on Ryan Adams' FB page: "All shows are solo."
  21. Just checked out TM for info on buying tickets. http://www.ticketmaster.ca/event/10004737A20B7E28?artistid=807216&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=1 Onsale to General Public: Start: Fri, 09/30/11 10:00 AM EDT Fan Club Presale: Start: Thu, 09/29/11 10:00 AM EDT End: Thu, 09/29/11 10:00 PM EDT Live Nation Presale: Start: Thu, 09/29/11 10:00 AM EDT End: Thu, 09/29/11 10:00 PM EDT Can anyone provide info on how to get at the presale passwords? 22. It's connected to the Elgin Theatre. I think I saw Cats there in the 80's. Looks really nice. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elgin_and_Winter_Garden_Theatres
