  3. Bouche - do you know if he actually did recognize you from somewhere (i.e. Cape Cod show), or do you think he thought you were someone else? Anyway, that's pretty cool.
  4. Great Thursday write-up Todd, thanks! Sounds like Bruce put on a great show with thoughtful and kick ass song selection.

    Phish Leg 2

I don't know the tune Show Of Life, but a Funky Bitch encore kick off couldn't possibly be considered limp dick.. Quite the opposite. Schwing!

  10. I'd check out Midlake too. Curious to know what your impression is of Tune Yards. Looks like a good festival!
  11. Toronto tonight. Did anyone happen to catch their show the last couple of nights?
  12. woo! http://exclaim.ca/News/ryan_adams_details_ashes_fire By Alex HudsonSince releasing his questionably metal LP Orion last year, Ryan Adams has been busy dropping hints about a new album: he's penned a set of songs inspired by Ronnie James Dio, and opened up about his "super cool" recording sessions. Now, we've finally got some details of the forthcoming album. In an interview with Q, he confirmed that the new disc is called Ashes & Fire and that it will include "12 elegant country-rock songs." Guests include Norah Jones and Benmont Tench (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers). It was helmed by legendary Rolling Stones/Who producer Glyn Johns. Adams has previously worked with Glyn's son Ethan on several albums (Heartbreaker, Gold, Demolition, 29) TwentyFourBit notes that the disc is currently slated for a October 11 release. For a taste of country-rock elegance, listen to a live clip of the waltzing title track below. In case you haven't been keeping up to date with Adams lately, he's been busy delving into the vaults and releasing unheard material.

    Pho?

Pho THU DO! 765 Somerset. This is my favourite pho in Ottawa. I just cruised up and down Somerset like 3 times on Google Maps to find it so you best be giving it a try.

  16. Same here, looks like I may only be able to make a visit during the day. Supercrawl is a good time! If it is like years past, there will be a handful of "after parties" at a diverse range of venues (ranging from bars, lofts, rooftops, parking lots, unrenovated and half-gutted buildings). It all goes down in Hamilton's somewhat raw but cooler-by-the-day James St North area in the heart of downtown. Oh yes be sure to visit one of Hamilton's many waterfalls while you're here.
  17. The Hammer just keeps getting better!
  18. Helix this Saturday at the Festival of Friends in my hometown of Ancaster. Worth the trip from Ottawa!
  19. The lineup to get into the Island Stage area for these guys at Hillside was backed wayyy up, so I skipped it. I did see their acoustic set though, sounded purty good. Nice to see them getting all of this buzz.
