  1. Some of those items previously exempt from the PST include haircuts, gym memberships, and plane fares! I just bought a full-year gym membership today, to circumvent being charged PST. I never would have thought that you could "stick it to the man" by getting a haircut, but I plan to do so tonight.
  2. One thing about that game last night - FAST. Both teams were skating hard. As far as entertainment value, that game was top-notch.
  3. Thanks Kev. Your response was, like the Fifth Estate, excellent. I liked your response too Phishtaper. The CBC does unite the country - in more ways than one! However, if I was "loudly spouting", my post would have been all in capital letters!
  4. I claim "Parroting Buzzwords" as a band name. I'm probably going to get lambasted for this, but I'm going to ahead and say it: The CBC has been wasting taxpayers' money for years. It's time for drastic measures. They haven't produced decent television drama since "The Beachcombers". I don't know a soul who watches "Being Erica" or "Little Mosque on the Prairie". Have you seen the CBC buildings in Toronto and Ottawa? Palaces. They could have built less ostentatious, more utilitarian buildings. And how about some advertising on their radio stations? Even PBS has low-key sponsorships. Have the CBC looked into that? Don't get me wrong, I think their news and sports coverage, documentaries, and radio shows are excellent. But there is a lot they could be doing to reduce expenses and increase revenues.
  5. You know it Booche! I was going to post a "woosh", but punk's was way better.
  6. Hey Kev! My fingers are crossed for you. I hope Don Cherry is on the chopping block! Q. How much does Moores pay to sponsor Coach's corner?
  7. I'll definitely go to the Ottawa Metallica show. I'd like to see Exodus too, but that's on Easter which is out-of-town family time for me.

  9. This is a fun thread... Can it just be as simple as that the Habs just aren't good enough? Whether it's from losing specific players, no goaltending or loss of confidence they just don't have it anymore. I really believe that losing in the quarter-finals took the spirit out of this team and I don't think they have the presence in the Management or locker room to revive it. I believe there is a lack of off and on ice leadership. The Habs are quickly turning into a joke in this regard. I could sit here all day and talk about puck moving D, goalies etc but what's the point. The facts are the Habs are not as talented as in the past and there are many teams who have improved in the last couple of years and passed them by. In this era teams can rebound quickly or sink like a stone for many years. A franchise needs a strong mamagment team and leadership on the ice. I don't see either of these in Montreal at this time.
  10. 20-25 games a year. Sometimes I go to games in other cities too - Montreal, New York, Philadelphia. Haven't been to the ACC yet though. Next year it will probably be fewer games, but in better seats.
  11. I like them all! Nice work. Now to decide which one to use as my screen wallpaper.
  12. Ah, I should have just met you at your seat. I could see you from my seat. There is a quick way to that meeting spot that avoids all the traffic jams.
  13. Good time at the game last night. Nice running into you Booche. I was surrounded by Canadiens fans last night. The Habs may have lost on the ice last night, but the real looser in my section was the letter "H".
  14. I downloaded a recording from the Pittsburgh show on March 1st through dimeadozen. Setlist is the same, and the sound is a solid B+ Thanks for the review TimmyB. I'm looking forward to the concert here next Monday.
  15. Correct me if I'm wrong StoneMtn - police don't have the right to check passengers' ID without just cause.
  16. Here's something I know from experience - you'll spend a night in a Hull jail if the police catch you over there, even after the ticket is paid. (Happened to an old roommate of mine, I got the 3 am call to come bail him out).
  17. Nah, I think I'm done for the season. Busy the next two weekends. Unless we get a huuuuuuuuuge dump of snow at the beginning of April, I'm hanging up the boards.
  18. This Natasha incident and this thread have convinced me to get a helmet for next winter. I'm too crazy a skier to not wear one.
