  1. I would have thought the increase was mostly due to higher fuel prices. It's only 2 bucks when you pay with tickets. A fair fare if you ask me. What's ridiculous is, the fares collected only cover about 50% of the actual cost of operating the buses. Approx. $400 of my property taxes this year went to public transportation.
  2. I've never tried "Ban and Jerrys" ice cream. I used to like Ben & Jerry's until it was taken over by Unilever. Ben & Jerry's - the ice cream created by hippies, but now marketed by a heartless multinational conglomerate.
  3. I watched Ray on ACL and Phil on the 10KLF webcast at the same time. The contrast in singing abilities created a vortex in my living room.
  4. Went there for lunch and it was very good! The sandwich I had, although kind of small, was really tasty and had some exotic meats on it - Elk salami for example. What would be perfect is a combination of this place and DiRienzo's. Bouche and I both took photos so expect to see something posted later.
  5. I saw the Eagles for free back in '03, courtesy of Eugene Melnyk. He paid for the Eagles to play a free show concert for all Senators season ticket holders. Thankfully, they didn't have a new album out at the time.
  6. Did he really write that? [color:purple]Makes him look like an idiot.
  7. Is that the pre-sale password? She conveniently finishes this leg of the tour in Ottawa so she can enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at her parents' place!
  8. When we go there for lunch on Friday, I'm ordering the pig snouts.
  9. Little known fact: Cherry Garcia was originally made with fat siphoned out of Jerry's ass.
  10. Why would the Murray Street Restaurant put this picture on their website?
  11. You know who's really a retarded dickhead? Howard Stern.
  12. I really enjoyed watching "Siskel & Ebert" and later "Ebert & Roeper". There are many movies which I didn't end up seeing, but I still remember what these guys said in their reviews.
  13. Don't forget to do your own re-enactment of The Battle of The Plains of Abraham. I did that my last time in Quebec.
  14. Back in the '70s we had BTO, BOC, ELO, and ELP.
  15. It was a misprint - it was actually a Canadian Tire dollar!
  16. That Alpha Dog segment was so funny it brought tears to my eyes. Did Bush really say "Goodbye from the biggest polluter in the world" at the G8 summit? That's the height of arrogance. That cut to commercial during the song was poorly executed.
  17. I just held it in until the end of the tour.
  18. I find both shows to be equally hilarious. But you know who's really hilarious? Alex Lifeson. Hopefully Colbert talks to him before the performance.
  19. Thanks for the tip Jaimoe! Although I disagree with your first statement.
  20. For the first year since they started the 2-weekend format, I was able to make it to the bluesfest every evening. Donna Summer's performance last night was fantastic. Trippy light show! Singing along with Don MacLean was a lot of fun. Canned Heat! Awesome. Anyone know how many of those band members were original? My guess is not very many. The ratio of top-notch entertainment to lawn chair related violence was way up this year. I'm glad it's over, I need the rest.
  21. That one about the kid getting the eye test had me laughing for a couple of hours when I first saw it!
  22. Only one lawnchair incident for me this year. Just before Adrian Belew started on Saturday night, I stood up to stretch. I wasn't planning to stand for the show, as we had a blanket and most people around us were sitting. But immediately a lawnchair dude behind me yelled "SIT DOWN". So I intentionally did not sit down and moved over about a foot to be directly in front of him. A couple of my buddies showed up and stood with me. The guy yelled "SIT DOWN" a couple more times but we pretended not to hear him. Eventually he moved, and we sat down. On Monday night, I was sitting in a lawnchair for Bettye Lavette, when Phorbesie stood directly in front of me for a second. For a joke I yelled "SIT DOWN" but I don't think you heard me Phorbesie!
  23. It sounded great from the back, but when I got up close I saw that he was barely singing and his band was carrying the performance. I felt sorry for the guy. They should have at least attached sticks to his arms so that they could move him like a puppet. Disappointed.
  24. Have a great birthday! keep those boilers a'boilin'!
