  1. A co-worker just returned from a trip to Indonesia, and brought back a gift for me: a single-serving pouch of Kopi Luwak. I'll probably try it on the weekend. I'll let you know how it was.
  2. In the early 1990's I worked for Bell Northern Research, a company noted for employing a large number of computer Geeks. I carpooled to work with one of my co-workers, who was several years older than me. He liked the country music, I liked the rock. When we took his car, the radio was on the country station. In my car, it was usually live Grateful Dead tapes, or Pink Floyd, or the local classic rock radio station. He jokingly referred to my music as "freak music". One day as we were leaving work we noticed the car in front of us had a license plate frame that read "Software by day, hardware by night". We both had a good chuckle about that, and I blurted out "well I'm a Geek by Day, and a Freak by Night". He started calling me that, and I found it a fitting nickname when I signed up for the Phish Sanctuary.
  3. Have a great day dude! Hopefully you'll mellow with age.
  4. I'd say that concerts are ruining the cellphone experience. I can't hear the phone ringing with all that loud music.
  5. being a zombie is a small price to pay for countless hours of top-notch entertainment.
  6. Did they play "Killing an Arab"?
  7. Funny conversation from a few months ago: Bouche: "I just used a pay phone. I can't believe it costs 50 cents now!" Me: "I would have let you use my cell phone." Bouche: "You owe me 50 cents!"
  8. Translation: “I need the advertising revenue!†Translation: “I need the advertising revenue!â€
  9. Not all of us were not aware of that huli.
  10. In. Make the reservation Jaimoe, Bouche will pick up the bill.
  11. Lisa: You don't have to eat meat! I've got enough gazpacho for everyone... It's tomato soup, served ice cold! Barney: Go back to Russia!
  12. that would be a great name for your own company.
  13. The headline of this thread is inaccurate too.... this will not affect me at all.
  14. Enjoy Mrs. Yachke's cabbage rolls and coffee!
  15. Ahh summer - the time of year when I can don my cutoff jeans and go for long bike rides. I'm going to hang out with my friends and eat some corn on the cob. I've got a wedding to go to in June, and I always cry at weddings. I'm really looking forward to the Bluesfest, especially Steely Dan. So, I guess you could say that I'll be: WearinWeirs, ChanginGears, ChillinWithPeers, HuskinEars, SheddinTears, and ReelinInTheYears.
  16. For a scenic route that is not too long, (although somewhat slower than the 401 route) go to Orillia, then to Minden Mills -> Bancroft, then to Renfrew. Drive through Renfrew and hook up with Hwy 17 eastbound to Ottawa. Take a look on the map and you'll see it's pretty much a straight line. Do not take hwy 7.
  17. Awww... I thought your awesome news was going to be about a new VB programmer in our office!
  18. It's an excellent double bill for sure. I'm glad Elvis is opening, and not Sting's son's band.
